A few of you may have seen that I recently acquired a cheap and cheerful Ork Battlefortress at an auction at my FLGS;

Well, like any good Big Mek, there was no way I was going to leave it like that! (Especiallyy because I dropped it when I got it home, breaking off its two gunz... seriously? 2 weapons on a battle fortress? They ought to be ashamed).
So I've uparmed the beast, Grind Tooth (bad luck to change the name of a ship... not sure if this also applies to moving piles of scrap, but I don't want to chance it,) and gave it a new Komanda. For scale reference, here is Grind Tooth beside my Baneblade and at the feet of my Warlord titan;

As you can see, I've added a fair few bits, which I'll get on to painting soon. To start off with, Da Gunz!

The Big-zzappa. 48" range, S 2D6, AP2, Heavy D3... I felt it needed a suitably chunky looking weapon; something more than just a large Lascannon. This overly large Van Der Graaf type projector seemed to fit the bill. You can't quite see it in this pic, but behing the shiney wheel, the barrel of the weapon disapears into the hull through the hole that usually houses the Demolisher cannon on a Baneblade. There is a hatch just above and behind this hole which is open, and you can see the barrel extending within the hull as well!

Ahhh, the Supa-Kannon. Ok, so it may not be quite as powerful as a Baneblade Cannon, or even the Orkish Skullhamma Kannon, but with a 60" range, S9, AP3 and a 5" Ordnance blast, it is still something no Mek could really discount it. Nowt fancy for me, just a few roundish barrels of various sizes and a plasticard plate to connect them. Still, feels Orky enough for me. Can't imagine anyone particularly wanting to stare down that barrel for very long, even with a BS of 2!
