PLastic of the year has to go to these guys for staggering detail in a small model, not to mention customisability and versatiltiy

I vote for the Arachnarok Spider. The kit is large and beautifully detailed.

the grey knbight strike squad box, the termi kit wasnt a impovemnt over the metals (and lost a ton of detials , such as the codpiece was a compleatly diffrent shape!?)

but the power armoured kit was amazing!

Wait... Can I amend my vote?

I want to vote for the Dwarf Berzerkers boxed set from Avatars of War. Beautiful minis, and the first company to do high quality plastics on a Sprue since GW.

Quick summary of GW releases from 2011:

Jan: Skaven hellpit and lightning cannon
Feb: Blood Angels Storm Raven & dread
March: Orcs Arachnarok & Savage orcs
April: Grey Knights infantry and dreadknight
May: Tomb Kings Necrosphinx & others
June: Dark Eldar Razorwing, Venom, Talos, Scourges
July: Storm of magic monsters, fulcrums & wizards
August: Vampires Terrorgheist & others
September: Ogre Kingdoms Thundertusk, Ironblaster & Mournfangs
October: Dreadfleet
November: Necrons
December: Beastmen

My vote goes to the necrosphinx, even though I don't play tomb kings, really sets the bar for cramming lots of stuff into a multi-purpose kit:

My vote goes to the Razorwing fighter, beautiful kit and unbelievably simple to assemble.

My vote has to go to the Dark Eldar Scourges, because of the level of detail, amount of options and just the sheer beauty of the kit.

Second would probably go the Stormraven, because it's a flying brick. Yeah.

The adventurers from Super Dungeon Explore, made by Soda Pop Miniatures. All the plastic stuff made by PP and GW this year are fantastic...but at the end of the day they are simply more of the same old stuff. Super Dungeon created a selection of high quality miniatures that look great AND are made in a style that nobody else is currently doing. For this it deserves some huge recognition and encouragement IMO.

20 years of ludicrous washingmachines on stubby legs have finally come to an end and 40K's finally gotten a Sci-fi war walker that doesn't have to be ashamed before its movie and literature predecessors.

Hi

A quick review of the PP plastic releases for the last year leaves me disappointed. They are not catching up to GW at all.

There are a lot of great GW releases, especially on the monster front, but in the end, I choose the Vampire Counts Terrorgheist (not the bone dragon varient) as the best plastic mini this year.

Cheers,
Nate

I'll second the Thundertusk/Stonehorn set. Gorgeous set that makes the dual-kit idea work really well.

Such a huge and impressively detailed kit deffinitely dereves more than just a brief mention, but that is all I have time for atm.

Right, I'll try again. If the reason my post don't go through (I don't even know if it reached the moderators for approval, because I don't get any post acknowledgement screen) is because it is comprised of three pictures, this is because it is the same set, of which one of three models can be made.
