Transdimensional beamer does what?
Please help. I've looked in the rule book and can't seem to find it. How do you do a strength test?

All characteristic tests are made on the models unmodified value of that type, so for instance if a space marine is forced to take a strength test he needs under a 4 to stay alive.
If he matches his strength value on a D6 value then he passes but if he gets a 5 or a 6 (i.e over his unmodified strength value) then he is removed from play
A roll of a 6 is always a failure regardless of what strength the model is

What makes it confusing is how many dice do you roll? Morale and Leadership tests are 2D6. How are we supposed to know that Strength tests are 1D6?

Well, to be blunt, you're supposed to know because the part about Characteristic Tests in the rulebook says so. :) I don't have my book with me currently, but the index in the back will tell you which page covers those.
It's a little counter-intuitive that those tests don't use 2D6 when LD. does, sure, but it's pretty easy to see that it would never make sense that way given how much smaller the value for stats outside of leadership tend to be.

You're looking for page 8 of the rulebook. Roll 1D6, looking for equal to or under said characteristic, with a 6 always failing and a 1 always being a success regardless of the actual charactersitic value.
Iceman, Morale checks are simply a type of leadership test. And these are again covered on p8

Thanks. No matter how many times I read the rulebook, I seem to miss some of the lesser-used rules.

Ahh, many thanks. I didn't know what I was looking for, and now I do. Characteristics test, I missed or forgot that. Cheers!
