A member of staff in my local GW told me today, after a long talk about Dwarfs, that Dwarf players would have 'lots of new toys' in March. He wouldn't expand on that, and he wouldn't tell me if it would be a wave of products and WD rules (like VC got earlier this year) or a new Army Book.

I have no other supporting evidence, so do keep the salt handy, and I'm sorry this isn't a more detailed rumour. I know GW staff often know no more than anyone else, but he's a nice enough chap, and I'm inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Anyway, perhaps some of the more well-informed people around here can shed some light on this.
This would be possible, based on current rumours, if we see VC in January (all but confirmed) and Empire in February (plausible, we know they are coming after VC). But don't get your hopes up.

Three months of fantasy armies with no 40k codexes, somehow I doubt that, particularly if Tau and BT are rumoured to be before 6th ed 40k in the summer. By the sound of the rumours, VC will be a new army book, which means if this is true, at least one, if not both Dwarfs and Empire would only be WD updates as I really can't see three months of fantasy army books.

I don't think (I may be wrong) the Empire is getting a new book yet so it need not take a release slot, ditto for Dwarves it may just be new kits with some WD rules. It is worth noting GW do seem to be trying to increase their release rate, so it is possible we may see unprecedented levels of book releases.:)

Well happy days if that is the case. I quite like the idea of waves of new stuff with WD rules, particularly if it increases their output. Just so long as it isn't subsitute for a proper army book/codex [glares at SoB 'codex']

There isn't anything wrong with the SoB WD codex, though if would be nice if one was in a proper book. But the most important thing is that they are putting out more and more models for us.

The consensus on Warseer seems to be that March is too early, but assuming this rumour isn't just made up I still think it is plausible at least.

When 8th ed drop GW went 9 months with out releasing an army book.
So a solid quarter of fantasy wouldn't be unwelcome.
After all the 8th edition has been out now for about a year and a half and only 3 books have been releases.

Besides it sounds like 40k has pretty much all of next fall and or summer.

I agree entirely, I just can't see it happening. 3 army books in a row would be unprecedented. It would also not be a brilliant move marketing wise as I fairly sure there are more people who play just 40K as opposed to just fantasy and neglecting them wouldn't be very sensible. Look for a VC army book and an Empire WD update, given that there is nothing wrong with the Empire book and barring a couple of characters, the Empire minature range is probably the best GW do for any of their systems. But having said that, summer and autumn will be dominated by 40k 6th ed, so maybe we will see a fantasy 'season'.

Oh a totally agree...

But GW releases follow no know logic.... :p

I best, absolute best, 2 book in 3 months.
