With destoryers becoming jump infantry i was thinking about trading in the jetbike bodies for legs. I never really liked the destoryer model but it made since as a jetbike.

Would you have a problem facing destoryers with legs?
The weapons and bases would remain the same, just the legs would change.

As removing the "Destroyer Body" section significantly changes the profile of the model, you might get accused of modeling for advantage. To keep it fair, you'd need to maintain the height and base size, and hopefully the 'girth' as well.

Think of it this way: would you be happy about facing a Tau player whose battlesuits were all modeled as fire warriors with jetpacks and huge guns?

I wouldn't be happy, but I would be very amused just to see them!!!

A friend of mine uses Wraith bodies on his Destroyers. I have never liked the floating bug-butts of the originals, but I love his conversions. He uses the same size bases and no one has ever had a problem with them before.

I say go for it, just make sure to use the correct size base.

I was planning to keep the same sized base and hieght, not sure if i could keep the same girth.
But i could always keep a normal one around that way if there was any question about LOS i could just swap the models out real quick. That should keep everyone happy right?

I'd say that as long as you keep relative height the same you will be fine. But the most important thing is that you use the same sized base as the original model.

Problem with the change to jumP infantry from jet bikes is the flying stand.
Under normal cercumstances u ignore the flying base altogether, but with JI u need a base, now u have these jump guys with a huge profile compared to other JI and a base that IMO is way to big for a JI.
Also the model is way bigger than the base, so when measuring assaults, u can get into base contact with the body of the model before u are in base with the base

I think in the case of these models we should continue to ignore the base and dO all measuring from the body of the model.
