Since Necrons are hot this week I spent Wednesday evening painting my brand new Finecast Necron C'tan Shard of the Nightbringer model.

I've also been sitting on a fair amount of older plastic Necron models for a while thanks to a couple of Necron Apocalypse bundle deals I bought a few years ago. Like the slumbering Necrons I've been waiting patiently for these automatons to get some cool new plastic multi-part stuff on their next revision. Now that time has come and I'm beginning to work on the project. Along with Ogre Kingdoms, Chaos and a whole bunch of other stuff of course!

Please vote on this image in Dakka Gallery. (http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/293107-C%27tan%20Shard%20Of%20The%20Nightbringer.html?m=2 ) Painting notes are shown with the image in its Gallery location. Thanks!

very cool night bringer. just to ask how did you find the new finecast nightbringer? Thanks. It was released last weekend with the new Necron Codex and many other models. If it's hard to find at independent retailers it can be found easily in a GW store or on the GW online store. And it's expensive enough to qualify for free shipping, but luckily it only went up 50 cents from its previous price in pewter of $35.

I actually managed to get it pretty cheaply with a bit of luck. Someone wanted a Dark Eldar Webway Portal template quite badly and the local store manager hooked us up. Though I hated to part with it, it's not something that is all that essential and most DE players will never even have the chance to buy one anyway it was so limited. Anyhow, since it is highly collectible for a lot of DE players and fetches good money on eBay I asked him if he'd buy me a new Nightbringer in exchange for it. :)

I think he meant "How did you like the new finecast nightbringer?"

http://www.woodwardenglish.com/how-did-you-find-your-steak/ Sorry, I assumed the more obvious usage. I don't need the dictionary link, thanks. Remember, I'm the guy always correcting other people's English around here. ;) If I could just get people to stop spelling definitely with an "a" in it.

Actually, I found it to be one of the best Finecast models I've seen or worked on. I talked about the quality and ease of assembly a bit in my description at the image source in my Dakka Gallery (http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/293107-C%27tan%20Shard%20Of%20The%20Nightbringer.html?m=2 ). To summarize here, there were no major flaws and gluing it together was fantastically quick compared to stories I've heard about trying to attach narrow bits like1 the scythe on the old metal version. This is one of those models for which Finecast was meant. Excellent all around.
