Advice on Painting Ravenwing Black

So I'm going to start painting my Ravenwing bikers...finally.

The problem is I don't really know the best way to paint black. Do I prime it and then just do highlighting and boom, done? Should I repaint the black AFTER I prime it black?

I'm really looking for any advice here that you all may have.

this is what i use on my iron hands marines.
hope it helps.

1. prime black
2. heavy drybrush of black and GW chradonite granite over entire model (mix is almost back)
3. further lighter dry brushings closer to edges w/ less black and more granite
4. final edge drybrushings w/ granite mixed w/ a bit of white

This is a good technique. I have used it quite a bit.

Something else that might work, and I have also used it with success, is find a really dark gray primer. There are a couple around. Then wash it in black (GW Wash is good for this). Then just mix dark to medium gray for 2 passes of edging. Done.
