Im looking to make my own sternguard vets for my white scars force.
Im going to start with a regular combat squad.
Now i have plenty of bitz to add but im looking to beef them up with some green stuff. I know how to do fur but not much else.
Can anyone give me some ideas?

Honestly, the only thing I could recommend is bigger, beefier bolters, and tons of ammo bags. That, or purity seals out the wazoo. Most marines look the same aside from markings and whatnot.

It could be something as simple as finding some of the older style helmets and shoulder pads, coupled with adding scopes to the bolters, and of course a lot of flair with purity seals and such.

Storm bolter magazines. Scout bolt pistol scopes. Paint them up as Deathwatch.

Hmm, I never though of deathwatch, But im not good at black, Stormbolters sounds good too.

You could just as easily paint them to match the White Scars, maybe do a bit more heavy tribal on them to give them that "I've been around for a long time" look about them.

Some rugged skin maybe bronzed flesh wased with badab black.
And some scares could work. Thanks.

Sometimes it doesn't take much for the effects you are looking for.

Maybe mix in some spacewolf bits for the tribal flair? The heads especially.

I was thinking that. But the only problem is that their heads have more of a viking flair rather then a mongrel one.
But some of their icongraphy should work.
