Having a bit of a disagreement with my local gaming group, I’m posting this question up to get some clairification.
I play Orks and I just want to know if this Tactic is Legal by the rules

I have a squad of 8 Burna Boyz equipet with Ork Burna’s (flamers) embarked inside of a Open Topped Transport. From inside the vehicle since it is an open topped vehicle I can fire with all 8 Burnas from inside the vehicle. I place the Template over an enemy squad and can cover 4 enemy models with the first template. They Auto Hit because it is a flamer template. Since all Fireing from a squad happens simultaneously, I can then place the next flamer template from the next Ork Burna over the same 4 enemy models and score 4 more auto hits. I can continue to do this with all 8 Orks inside the open topped vehicle, scoring a total of 32 Auto Hits. Then I would roll to wound, and that enemy unit would roll to save as usual.

Thank you in advance for your Help
Kenny

Yes, it is.

What was their argument for it being illegal?

yes this is all correct the only thing that i can think of an actual illegal move that could of happened is you moved the truck (or whatever vehical) 12" which would mean the squad in transport cant fire from inside but if it moved 6" or less this is a legal move

Also remeber that the flamer template can touch any part of the trukk, not just the flat bit at the back

And yes they can all be fired from the same spot (cue image of Orks forming an orderly queue, taking turns to fire out of one spot)

Yeah this is legal. The easiest way to avoid any problems is to place a template so it covers as many models as possible, then multiply this number by the amount of flame templates you get to fire. Then roll that many to wound dice all in one go, rather than do each one seperately, to avoid your opponent taking models off thinking you have done firing as he taken saving throws. It avoids confusion and speeds up the game!

the whole not touching truck non-sense is nonsense. That would mean the Flamestorm Cannon on the Baal can't shoot forward.

What matters is that the flamer shots are coming from the crew compartment of the truck.

Actually, Tynskel, they don't have to come from the "crew compartment." The rules for firing from open topped vehicles are pretty clear about that--you can fire from any point on the hull.

All perfecty legal. Our local ork player torments me with his burna wagon all the time... sigh
