I always suffer from a lack of anti-air in my Chaos Army (in apoc).

Thinking about a Chimaera chassis, with (wait for it) the body (upper hull) of a defiler. Both side weapon mounts will be defiler autocannons. the turret will probably have some sort of radar (I can't remember if there is one suitable in the command upgrade frame) and the battle cannon replaced with a further circular radar.

this would be to try and create the impression of this:

Or possibly (for BF2 fans) this:

Any thoughts, particularly with what to fill the Chim's main turret hole with (possibly just a hatch) and on the size of vehicle profile? Also what paint scheme?

May try and build in a couple of weekends, piccies soon as.

I'd ditch the Chimera turret and mount the Defiler up front, and from the rear doors set up massive ammo feeds.

Hi there, i have a load of traitor guard to go with my choas army (just under 30k in total). If you want to use the defiler option on a chimera it can work well. The way i built my manticores years ago was to make the chimera like how you would see a basilisk normally, but made my own plasticard section, with random detail to mount the defiler turret on top of. Otherwise it seemed to look to high if mounted on top of the chimera top hatch.

I also have hydras, but used the FW ones, and added detailing to make them choasy. But I was thinking of making long autocannons which can then attach to the side sections of the defiler turret. My worry is if you use normal autocannons, then they will look a bit too small.

Hope thats some use
