I finished seven more vehicles in the past week for my already somewhat large Imperial Guard armor collection. You can vote on the new Deathstrike, Manticore and group photo of all 7 newly finished vehicles here in my Dakka Gallery (http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/images-13937-4041_39th%20Cadian%20Imperial%20Guard.html). Painting and modeling questions are welcome.

Here's a quick view:

Agreed. Brass--- Did you use an airbrush or simply spray out of a can?

Thank you, both.

The khaki color was sprayed on using Krylon Khaki (flat) spray paint. Then I used an airbrush for the initial coats of green and brown. The green starts with a spray of Olive Drab (Vallejo) and then graduates to Catachan Green (GW). The brown band is Scorched Brown (GW) with a darker band of Dark Camo Brown (Vallejo) in the middle. The highlights for both the khaki and brown parts are a dry-brush of Kommando Khaki mixed with Skull White. The green parts are highlighted with a dry-brush of Camo Green.

The first tanks I ever did for this army were done with spray paint and people sometimes asked me if those were airbrushed because I got a pretty good effect with it (see picture below for an example), but the airbrush of course provides a lot more control and subtlety. After I attended an airbrush clinic at the old GW HQ Battle Bunker a few years ago given by John Shaffer I invested in an airbrush to do the next rounds of tanks for the army.

Here are a couple examples done with spray paint for comparison.

Here's one I airbrushed a couple years ago, my first time doing it after having attended that clinic. I painted hazard symbols on the fuel tanks for my Banewolf models and my Devil Dog.

And here's a picture of all twenty tracked vehicles I had painted for this army up to a couple years ago before the latest ones featured in this topic thread. The vehicles below have some airbrushed and some patterned with spray paint. The latest round of newly painted vehicles brings my tracked vehicle total to twenty-seven. Those Krylon Flat paints are all I use these days. Love them.

The tanks look really nice. I was going to do the same with mine (diff colors) but then my silly airbrush broke. Doh.
