It has been a while since I have posted stuff on my tyranid, and its been slow going due to lack of money to really buy masses of the little buggers. I really can't wait to get this project done and really make use of these little guys for what they were supposed to be fore.

Either way, I will start off with my mid conversion pic of my Tervigon as she is at the moment. I am pretty pleased with how she is coming together so far. Comments, Advice, and criticism of any sort are welcome, just please be gentle -cuteface-

For those of you who havent seen my first painting project of my hormagants, well I will post a pic of them little guys too.

And lastly this is an old pic of my warriors after I had just magnetized them for the various weapon options, and I was happy how they came out. This was before I primed them if I remember correctly.

Let me know what you all think though, I would love any advice, criticism and thoughts on my tyranids so far. I still have a trygon that isn't photographed, but Trygie is only assembled and still needs some more work, and yes I named her Trygie. Have some Hive Guard and a Doom conversion that still need some more work, and a carnifex half assembled and hopefully be ready for magnetization soon as soon as i can find my dremel.

I look forward to seeing Trygie and the tervigon (Tervi?) when she is finished.:) Nice hormagaunts too, though some clearer pictures would be nice (says the girl with no pictures of her collection at all).:p

yeah, all i have right now until i can afford to get my nikon d50 fixed and buy a macro lens is to use my phone which can be iffy if I do not have perfect lighting. I swear my bloody phone just hates taking good pictures, had a pic of me next to a guy costuming as a star craft marine, and i was in one of my Lolita dresses, and the pic was so super blurry, was so pissed -pouts-.

But yeah, I will get proper pics as soon as I can create a lightbox (less finicky that way) and get my good camera fixed.

Listen, I love me some tyrannds, so when I see a check out my tyranids thead post fixed with (pics heavy) I get excited. No doubt you have a fine start to a tervigon and the taunts appear to be well painted, but I'll second EldarGals comment they are a bit fuzzy. And 3 pics does not (Pics Heavy) make. Bring It On! Let's see some real quality work!

Oh the pic heavy was just a warning as I am going to use this for pic showing in general, there will be more where this came from, going to do some work on my doom of malantai or my tervigon next.

Here is some more work I just did on my Tervigon and my Doom of Malan'tai, the Doom look being an idea that I got from someone in my local area. I really liked it and asked if I could incorporate this into my own look, glad he was ok with it, cause the look is really epic.

Tervigon:

Just did some more cords of flesh on the birthing area of the tervigon, and filled in some carapace on the back. The ridge on the back was really tricky to get where it was, though the picture doesn't really show it off well, I will probably define it more with my next run.

Doom of Malan'tai:

I have only the basics down on this bugger, but love the look so far, and have the basis for his brain filled in, still need to add more GS to the brain and sculp it into shape and we'll be gravy.

Hope you all like the work in progress so far, I am pretty pleased, its not frelling amazing like I would love to create, but so far I am pretty happy with the results.

It really does look like a great big stretchy birthing sac on the Tervigon, suitably icky.:) Look forward to seeing the brain on the totally mythical create made up to scare Eldar children into eating their space spinach and in no way destroyed a Craftworld on its own.

That's some lovely greenstuff-mutations you've got going on. I'm eager to see some paint on that. ^^

I beg to differ, I think that it very well could have destroyed a craftworld on its own, because without synapse it goes into a feeding frenzy, and with that much psychic power in one place this thing is damn near unkillable, hehe.

I am happy with the birthing sack though so far, still have a long way to go, mainly have a ton more cords to put on there, and going to make some larger ones on top as well when those are done. Lastly I have to bespeckle its carapace with crystals in various directions to finish off the conversion. Still have a lot of basework to do on it as well, this is one of those major projects that just takes forever but is worth it in the end.

Trust me as am i, to see its flesh looking like lava, but I think with the fleshy cords of stuff on the birthing sack I am going to go with something more pink and fleshie instead of the normal lava, with the lava look going on the arms and main body. We shall see how i feel when I get to that point.

Very clever use of kits.
Your 'Doom' is so simply, but so strikingly effective.

Sadly not my original idea, I had planned something that would have been far less awesome and far more work to pull off with greenstuff. This idea was from someone in my local area named shaun, and I asked him if I could emulate its awesomeness.

You are making me want to pick up the spyder kit so I can make a tervigon.

I like it a lot. Unique, and imaginative. You have captured a physical image of what has been floating around in my head for more than a year now.

I am curious about those 4 crystalline growths on your tyrants back. What is the story behind them? Did you also make them out of sprue? That one on your Trigon base looks to be made of sprue too, and it's amazing!

All of them are made of sprue bits, a little work, some sanding, and a lot of love. Once that is done I basecoat, drybrush, then ink. It is a fairly simple process, and all my MC's are getting crystals on their backs in various places, to signify the geologic nature of My bugs.

Actually the DE arent mine, they belong to a friend who I am painting them up for. My secondary army will be necron, and if I have anything to say about it, will look far superior to this army when I am done.

Looks good, I'd consider trying to cluster the back crystals a little more, the length of them makes them look a bit odd with just one shard in each location.

Trygon base looks great.

I am tempted to shorten them a bit more on some of them, make it a little better in that regard I hope.

The Zoey looks wonderful. It's a perfect use of your established crystalline formation, and a great way to substitute out the little 'prawn' that each is bouncing off of. As you already mentioned, great use of ink as well.

On your Flyrant, did you carve out a socket on the carapace for the wing's attachment? I am just opening my first plastic flyrant, and concidering how the sculpt is designed to make you sacrifice one set of arm sockets for the wings...

I did a little magnetizing and green stuff work, and a pin, to build up the shoulder carapace a bit and it magnetizes on in that spot. I didnt like the sacrificing an arm thing, and the magnets wouldn't have worked in that spot anyway, so I did this instead. It worked out really well though the one win does fall over a little sometimes. Overall I thought it was a vast improvement over the standard kit, but that is just me.

Thank you on the base part though, I was happy with how it turned out, because that connection with the old method was so flimsy and was crooked anyway, this is much better and looks far better.

Here is how my bug 1850 list looks on its display board for a big tournament I went to. It required fully painted armies, so I went balls to the wall and painted it up. I love how my bugs look.

I don't think they need OSL, great as is really. I am not sure light effects would work on Nids, them being so organic. Maybe very subtle on your psynapse creatures.
