Someone on Warseer linked to a fairly new miniatures company, Titan-Forge, that has only been open a month or so. There website is here (http://www.titan-forge.com/).

They currently have a couple of female models suitable for use in an Empire or Bretonnian army:

Standard bearer:

Griffon Lady:

Not the best female sculpts in the world not I've seen far worse and nothing a headswap wouldn't remedy.

And some Daemonic things:

Those look perfectly decent. Is it just me, or does the depth of detail on them seem a bit lacking? I feel like the depth of the cuts on the feathers, etc, on the gryphon are kind of shallow.

Still better than anything I could do :)

I agree, the face lets her down a bit. And I am amazed that they can make something like the demon disc without expecting a GW lawsuit.

So far this looks promising, as their first attempts they are quite good. I'm interested to see what they will develop further down the line, and likely the models will get better(in quality) the more they make.:)

You know, I sometimes wonder this myself. It's relatively apparent that other companies are using pieces from GW kits as a basis, or as an actual part of their design, then recasting and selling them. Sure, they're modified, but is there a legal alotment of parts that can go into another product, somewhat like rappers can only sample so much a song before they have to pay for it?

I'm not really seeing the supposed recast bits, and they're only making generic fantasy stuff. Gamesworkshop didn't exactly invent grim fantasy :P

I didn't mean with this one, actually. I imagine the "problem" with this one would be the fact that it looks exactly like the screecher model, or whatever.

I meant more along the lines of shoulder pads, lasguns clearly being used as the basis for recast and sold conversions, etc...

I just don't think anyone does minis like GW. These maybe nice alternatives or rip offs, depending on your perspective but to me I prefer GWs sculpts any day of the week. The only models I think come close maybe are avatars of war.

They certainly aren't as good as GW models, but they aren't bad. I'm not sure I'd buy the griffon lady but the standard bearer I might.

Right with you, Deadlift. The Avatars of War minis are really nice, mostly because they have top notch sculptors working for them (Aragorn Marks FTW!).

Their new Skaven model looks really nice, as does the Ogre Tyrant. I also think their Dark Elves are really well done.

Do they make any other variants of the female demon hunter models...they are pretty nice! Exposed breasts FTW

I don't believe they do, not yet anyway. They may expand the range in future.

I'm a big fan of the pirate ogres although yet to pick any up. Expensive maybe to grab a whole army but as a Maneater unit or such they are awesome.

Titan Forge have added a new Gravehaunt Hills to their range:

Flesh Reapers

Vampiric bats:

There are a few characters, as well.

That stuff would be great for a VC army, really nice.

Those bats are so much better than GW's Dire Bats (though that's not hard cos the GW ones are really showing their age).

Liking the Flesh Reapers too, though not as much as this guy:

Kostuh the Necromancer

A Night Goblin Necromancer riding an undead Squig... how cool is that!

Titan Forge have a new human character out, totally not riding a demigryph:

They also have some new undead and scifi stuff, check out their website.

That is a really nice "not Demigryph", better than any of the GW/FW ones thus far.

Thoroughly unimpressed with the scifi stuff so far. The weapons on their wardens and the assassins look very strange. The swords on the wardens also look lazy... just standard medieval swords. This is sci-fi right?

I disagree. It is nice enough, but no better than the GW ones, especially as it has been so clearly designed to resemble them as closely as possible.

I don't mind that so much, as it's clearly meant to be a Hero Type model. Can't decide if I like it enough though...

Does anyone have any hands-on with the Titan Forge stuff? I'd love to get some first hand thoughts.

I am ordering some of their demon hunters to be Death Cult assassins in my GK army. I'll let you know once I get them.
