There are not many things in this game that are flat out immune to psychic powers. Nevertheless, Lady, as well as any squad she is a part of, are completely immune to the effects of psychic powers. Ok, great, but what does that mean for the following circumstances?:

Lady + some guyz + Raider: A guy wants to make your raider take a dangerous terrain check since he made a snowstorm and Lady's raider moved into it.

Lady + some guyz + Raider: Different guy shoots the raider with a high strength psychic shooting attack. Does this do anything to the raider?

Lady + some guys: Assault a squad within range for librarians power that makes the ground dangerous and difficult during assault. Does this effect the squad since the power is sort of casted on the ground and then the ground is what is killing my guyz? Haven't seen specific wording how this power works so just curious.

Doom of mlasdklja: Is this thing a psychic attack? Wtf is this thing? Why are nids so bad?

Daemons: These guys don't take psychic tests to use stuff like breath of chaos. Is this still a psychic attack tho?

The Raider is a seperate unit, so it will have to take a dangerous terrain test as normal.

Like above, if Lady Malys is footslogging, any psychic shooting attacks or area effect psychic powers wouldn't work but the Raider she and her unit are riding in don't benefit from the power.

I think she would be immune from that effect, because it would be an area effect power, which can be negated by her power. At least that seems to be the general consensus.

Doom of mlasdklja: Is this thing a psychic attack? Wtf is this thing? Why are nids so bad?

If you're talking about the Doom of Malan'tai, yes, his cataclysm (or whatever it is called) won't work against her if she is footslogging, but it will work against any transport she rides in. The leech power will work against her if she is footslogging however, because it is not a psychic power (no psychic test is needed).

Daemons: These guys don't take psychic tests to use stuff like breath of chaos. Is this still a psychic attack tho?

Although based on the warp, none of the daemon powers are psychic either, as no test is made and it isn't explicitly called a psychic power, unlike Warlock powers, for instance.

In short, she is immune to psychic shooting attacks, area affect psychic powers, and powers like doom and null zone, as well as force weapons when trying to inflict instant death. Grey Knight force weapons can work on her as well as buffs and powers like Guide, because she and her unit are not specifically targeted.

I'm really not sure where the confusion is here; the unit she joins and the transport she rides in are not the same thing, so there's a clear delineation there. All of the other examples listed were just "hey what about THIS situation, does the psychic power work on her NOW?" and the answer, inevitably, is "no, it doesn't."

Daemons and the Doom, despite having abilities that are themed as being psychic, still aren't actually using psychic powers. Try and Psychic Hood their close combat attacks sometime and see how that goes for you, 'cause it's the same thing.

A few things that are blocked/negated by Lady Malys that are not direct shooting attacks

Warlock psychic powers that affect the unit (such as destructor).

Harlequins' Veil of Tears won't work, Veil of Tears is a passive psychic power.

Njal's stormcaller won't affect her, it's a passive psychic power.

Ork Weirdboy powers won't affect her.

Force weapons won't affect her.

Any power that requires a psychic test won't affect her.

Any power that causes the unit to be identified as a psyker or group of psykers (such as brotherhood of psykers) or any power where one or more models must roll a psychic test.

Units which have powers that automatically occur which are not described as psychic powers DO affect her.

Units which bolster their own abilities are not affected by her presence, unless the power requires an interaction with her unit.

Generally, the best way to determine what is and is not considered a psychic power is to check the rulebook in the special rules and bestiary section. Some powers require a check (Fear the Darkness, for example) and some powers don't (Warlock Psychic Powers and Veil of Tears, which are described as persistant psychic powers).

Only Eldar get "passive" psychic powers anymore- the so-called "minor psychic powers" were thrown out with 4th edition, and it's unlikely we'll ever see them again.

Destructor obviously doesn't affect her; I'm a little iffy on Veil of Tears, but since it does seem to have an effect on her (forcing the special pseudo-Night Fight), I can see a good argument that it doesn't work. Stormcaller, however, works just fine- it grants a unit to all the SW units in an area, and thus has no effect on Malys at all.

What if Malys joins a unit of harlequins with veil? What happens there? Would the unit lose the benifit as she is with them?

I played a guy who was convinced that Malys was immune to Hammerhand so I couldn't make my GKs str 5 when fighting her. Not that it would have mattered, I won handily anyways as DE have never been able to put up much of a fight against GKs in my experience. I had the TO correct him anyways.

LOL, technically he is correct Malys is iummune to HH, it doesn't affect her, it affects the caster, you should have agreed, and proceeded with S5,6,7 or whatever you bumped it upto. Lulz
