Finally painting some of my own Space Hulk stuff. I'm trying to really bring out the complexity of the mini here. Whether I succeeded is always yours to decide.

And I put him up on Cool Mini for those of you who care to vote. (http://www.coolminiornot.com/286835)

Very nice. Your red is a bit on the pink side for me...but that is just a matter of personal preference. The blue gems were a good choice. They add a little contrast.

Really good except I think you need to shade his face or darken his complexion. His armor is dark and battle scarred while his face looks way to clean and bright.

Very nice paint job mate! Yums. I do agree with the others though: the red is too pinky-vermillion for me, and the face is a teensy bit flat.
Actually, looking at it some more, you have really good, soft, shading skills. But I think that's also your minus. The shading is a little too soft (for my tastes). If you prefer the softer look, that's totally cool. But I reckon you could go a little darker on some of that shading, give the model some more depth and such.

Actually, his face was a little bit of an experiment. I used more or less normal shading for it, but I outlined everything in pure black. That's actually true of the whole mini- everything is outlined in black.
The pure black of the lining seems to contrast quite a bit to the more subtle shading on the face- and in the pictures, it seems to drown them out a little. I think I'll use this technique on my other space hulk minis, but I'll also use other dark colors and see what effect I end up with.
