I would say around the 2500 to 3000 point mark. IMO

'Lo Firebird, from what I've seen via batreps, the average PUGs are 1750-2000, and the tourney based games fill out around 2500-3000 as previously stated ^^^. But I've also seen little 20 minute skirmishes of 750 point pitch battles with just a couple of units to kill some time, or post quick vids on YouTube and other Podcasts. From what I understand most people steer away from anything past 2500 mark unless they are wanting a grand battle army where you can basically field whatever and win with less strategy involved.

Most tournaments and games I have played ranges from 1.5k-2.1k. Ard boys is 2.5k which is the only time I play that many points. 1850 usally is a good point range.

its MEANT to be 1500 ( i think) it definetly was 1500 in 4rth ed but now there is a divide! in britan the norm is 1500 but across the pond it is much larger.

1500-2000 in UK, and seems to me to be 2000-2500 in US

Are we talking about 40k or Fantasy here? I assume fantasy, as it is in the fantasy section.

going back to points.

UK only

40k - 1500 to 2000 personally i prefer 2000 point and more games.

Fantasy - 2500-3000 at least where i play, 8th ed seems to encourage large point games.

Last ed was 2k or 2250 for tournies in the US
This ed most of them are 2k or 2400.
Makes that 25% number factor a little easier.

Depends on how long you want your game to take. 1500 points will take you a couple of hours, 2500 will probably take double that. We always play according to how much time we have.

A couple hours for 1500? An hour.

2500 takes from two hours to two and a half. So long as you know how to play the game it really doesent take that long

So many people play differently. There is a group of players that play full 2000+ point games in about 45 minutes at my locals. /shrugs. It really all goes to thinking plays ahead and reading what your opponent will do vs. what they actually do and already have your counter plans made up. (Oh and what happens from lady luck via dice).
