Since I play against Orks, Tyranids, and IG as much as I play against MEQ, I liked having flamers in my squads, but as I thought about it, having a one shot combi-melta with a dedicated flamer, while cheaper, seemed more inefficient than a dedicated meltagun at the same BS that can shoot every round. I've never seen flamers get off more than 1 or 2 shots anyway, and the fact it auto hits guarantees that I won't waste the combi-points on a miss.
Still not sure I've optimized by Wolf Guard Terminators, but I thought the combi-plasma could help against monstrous creatures, other terminators/MEQ, or even rear armor shots.
