First of all, what in gods name is the diffrence between the DA Veteran squad and the DA upgrade sprue (apart from the £5 drop in price)?

Secondly, why does everyone think Nids are bad? They are horrible, when used right... The Doom of Malanti (granted semi easy to take out) is just... Nasty, along with many other lists.

BUT I guess this is just coming from a non-meta player (oh and warrior armies [if you dont have to much high strength blasts/or other] are horrible, 3 wounds and + 1 to there old armour saves makes them suprisingly tough)...

OH AND FREAKING Ymargl Genestealers :|...

My rant is over, I imagine I will be shreded. I would like to know more so about my first question though xD

Nids are horrible because counts-as Grey Blood Wolves Razorfang spam netlist adherents say so.

-------------------------------------

I guess it's because you have to think ahead and plan when you're using a Tyranid army, you can't just rush about and survive your mistakes or spend the game hiding inside a tank. Actual tactics/strategy required.

oh and it's cool to hate cruddace and every codex he writes!

"Just for the record i have a nid army along with several others, and i think it is probably one of the most fun army's to play."

oh hivemind stop trying to upset the marine players :p

even wolves need tactics.

although that tactic for me generally involves CHARGE!

Footwolves FTW!

The DA veteran sprues are just that. 5 vets in robes with all the associated kit. The DA upgrade kit includes DA specific pieces of items to customize a regular set. Like a set of termie legs, assault cannon with feathers, shoulder pads, storm shield, etc. Think of weapons/armour with censors and feathers dangling from everything. But in a tasteful way, (not the stripper kind :) )

Thats what I would have thought, but the actual upgrade sprue seems to come with everything that the Veteran box does (I.E all the bodies, all the arms + of course the upgrades :L).. So i'm thinking the upgrade sprue is the same, apart from you dont get any bases with it? http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1400016&prodId=prod900140a < the second picture along, on the little slider is a sprue pic. What do you make of it dvs1 :)?

Oh right so bassicaly, because no one plays wolves (literally, not a single player), OR meta styled games, Nids are actually an ok, fun and tactical army?

Oh and Darkstar, I can imagine why it's fun :L... I got a squad of Devies eaten by a Ymargl Genestealer squad, and then a squad of Terminators got their brains melted by The Doom, (I rolled 3 6's for my leadership, it couldn't have gone worse tbh)

Oh and Harridans are a freaking pain tbh

The only things missing from the Veteran Upgrade set is the bases (who cares), and the sprue with the Mk VIII chest/missile launcher.

It seems I stand corrected. That missing sprue should also then have some special weapons like a plasma gun and flamer also, right? I seem to remember getting those in a ebay lot sometime ago...

Thanks Faolan, that makes alot more sense now :). So bassicaly it's £5.50 extra for a small sprue and some bases? LOL, probs wont do that :L. Yeah Dvs1 I think thats what Faolan means :). Thanks people
