Hey Everyone,

Seeing people do allot of testing and are providing allot of useful feedback, thought I'd threw my list out there to see if anyone could give me some pointers or confirmations to use of units in this list?
I see that in America the 2000p lists are common but I would like to have your opinion on a little less points.
Here it is:

HQ
Avatar
Eldrad
Troop
3x 10 Guardians with scatter laser and warlock with spear and embolden
1x 8 Dire avengers with a simple wave serpent with SS and shur cannon
Elite
2x 5 fire dragons. One unit in falcon mentioned in Heavy and one in identical wave serpent from above
Heavy
Falcon EML(bright lance too expensive, gives up to much range...and how many times is it REALLY necessary, landraiders I ignore anyway) Holofields, SS
Fire Prism holofields SS
3x Warwalker with each 2 scatter lasers.

Let me know if you have any thoughts on choices of units and or possible alterations to this list.
Tnx in advance ;)

Ok most seems sound choices.

2 things strike me if you take 1 fire prism it is worth considering a second.

the second is your leadership stratergy. Your avatar is fearless and makes nearby units fearless. though he is not indestructible. One unit con be lead by eldrad for ld ten. Yes you could roll 11 or 12 and eldrad does benefit on psyk tests. I assume you will put him in a guardian unit in order to stick near the war walkers.
You will have to play test it, it may prove ld over kill.

what is your deployment plan? who leads what do you out flank how will you use eldrads ability( redeploying walkers closer to enemy may meanthe can get away with cheaper shurikens, or get them killed)

Consider saving some points by mixing up your Warwalkers with Shuriken Catapults (2x SL, 50/50, and 2x SC). Will make them a complex squadron (so you can allocate those pesky penetrations around as necessary) and use those to do something more effective with the other units, like giving your Dire Avengers some extra models and maybe Bladestorm.

Well the falcon is for keeping an extra hand in claiming/contesting, as well as delivering a quick punch to tanks. The falcon does have 3 S8 attacks in one volley so that's pretty good against armor.
The walkers are mainly set for outflanking and making the enemy sweat. Its 24 str 6 attacks and that's pretty nasty against anything. I usually use my avatar to draw most of the fire. I keep eldrad in a guardian unit with a warlock with embolden close enough to the avatar for Eldrad to cast fortune on himself and on the avatar. Gradually moving forward where needed. My 2 wave serpents are usually going around/forward for herassing and timely moves on objectives or quick killing of tanks. Dropping 5 fire dragons among a couple of non-moving tanks is allot damage to do in 1 close combat with melta bombs.

I do find the idear of a second fire prism intriguing. a s6 ap 3 blast is very nasty against any troop army, especially marines:D. Allthough I would be having to put those 5 fire dragons somewhere else or get something different. Any suggestions?
I'll try the 2 fire prism idear though

How do you get 24 s6 shots ? The rule is, if you have two of the same weapon on the one vehicle they become twin linked. This is not bad if BS is 3, it is still scary for an infantry unit who is the focus of your attention.

I like to use rangers with the pathfinder upgrade. Some high ground at the back of the field, 2+ cover save and AP1 for hits on 5+, and rending on rolls to wound, all for 120 points.

I would also suggest trading the dire avengers or one of the dragon units for a CC unit, I like scorpions. They have lots of attacks with a high initiative, 3+ armour save, S4 from their chain swords and carry grenades for assault on cover. 6 will hold their own against most opposition, especially if the exarch has a claw. I did decimate a bunch of gene stealers with a banshee unit though.

How do you deploy your vehicles. I have difficulty finding suitable cover and I don't win many roll offs for first turn. That is the one time they are really vulnerable to enemy fire.

Nope. There is no universal rule that says this. There are some specific units that work like this, but not war walkers.

Yep, if it were a universal rule they wouldn't need to explicitly state that is what happens when the Wraithlor picks a duplicate weapon. As it doesn't say that for the War Walker, they count as two seperate weapons.
