I plan to use this to keep track of all I can manage to get done hobby wise in a year. Now it's not new year so my 1 year challenge will start today 8/24/2011

the rules are simple nothing counts unless it is painted to table top quality and nothing that was done before this counts unless its paint gets a large upgrade ie: fully weathered and battle damage added (if I can ever manage to get that to look good)

I finished this guy today... but he used to be part of a black templar's army I had. He had his left shoulder repainted and had his storm bolter clipped off. I added a magnetized combiemelta that I painted today. So I don't think he makes the grade to add to my score. But he is now ready to play with.

I had to add this last picture since it shows what I think is the best part of this kit the exter parts fit inside of its self so now I don't have to worry about losing my work.

I finished the last of the titan today as well. At least what is on the plans I have. Now it is just a matter of gap filling and adding in all the trim and what not it needs to really look good.

I am not 100% happy with this guy but I wanted to get him done today so I could play with getting better pictures. Upping my EV and adding a curved background seemed to have helped allot. Thank you everyone that gave me advice. There is a bit more I want to try that you have suggested but that will have to wait for another day.

Thank you for the kind words guys.
Now I have my favorite figure in the whole army.
My tactical sergeant with power fist and bolter and again his arms are magnetized to swap out for a bolt pistol and ccw or power weapon. But as of now the pistol, ccw and power weapon are only based and are not finished. None the less hear is the moddle as he will be fielded 99% of the time.

Also I just finished the bases for my Sternguard squad. They are all custom resin that I made for myself. I was not happy with the idea of my sign and pipes/rocks poping off their bases so I cast them and made copies now I can have as many as I want :-)

This is a factory I built years ago before cities of death came out. But it was never finished, in fact it looked like hell until about a year ago when I got it in my mind to update the building it was made shorter and then I added all the trim, lights and the outside platform as well as the corrugated roof. today I finally put paint to it and this is what came out.

Well I am not dead, but painting has not made much progress as of late. I have base coated quite a lot of models but finished none. what I have done was this.

The holes for the headlights could have come out better. But I wanted to see what it would take to get headlights and turn singles into a rino. Now that I have the basic down I will try again after the new parts I need come in. The white headlights are just too big to place in the rino properly and the switch I had around does not lend itself to being incorporated in to the rino seamlessly like I would want. the alpha was a minor success lets see if the beta does better.

The latest buildings (from the PDFs) look a little scruffy compared to your older ones. Sorry, if that was intentional and I'm just missing the point. Love the larg storage tank and the Fists though :)

you are right about the buildings. Honestly I think it is the paint that lets them down a bit it was more rushed than normal and done on a day I had 4 hours of sleep and worked a 10 hour day (damn people calling out). but that is no excuse I will get around to repainting them when I do the next batch.

the terminators are also a little below par so they will need to be fixed up a bit as well. I was riding the inspiration I had for the day to get something done and quality slipped a bit in the rush...


thank you for being honest. i would have see it after a wile but it's better to know now and fix it early :)

The paint was the only part I meant looked scruffy. Personnally I wouldn't want the build of ruins to be too neat... same as I don't for my (very few) Ork buidlings

got one more stern guard done he is one of the special weapon users and is magnetized to swap out his gun.
i was having problems getting the yellow on the last layer lay correctly not 100% sure why i watered it down the same as i have done to all the other guys. i suppose these things happen tho.

I also made progress on his 3 friends that still need paint so they should be done when i get another chance to paint. When they are finished it will be a huge personal milestone it will be my first army to ever hit the fully painted status up to and beyond the 2000 point mark. I have a lot of tau from my first army painted but a lot of them are at that stage where they would make a 3 color minimum but not what i would call done by any stretch. I have also started a few other army's over the years. Black Templars and Orcs mostly but they never got past primeing sadly. So i am looking forward to finally playing with with an army that looks battlefield ready!

I used up the last drop of Golden Yellow i had finishing up the last 2 bikes tonight. I was lucky it held out so i guess i have to get what ever is the new equivalent the next time i go to GW but that feels fitting that i got to finish the project with the last of the original.

there is always a few more options that need paint to get added i am just glad i can paint them a unit at a time when ever i feel the need to switch them into the army from now on.

i am planing on posting every Monday and Friday at very minimum but will be trying to add in as much as possible so a lot more then that will happen most of the time. i currently have an post on how i converted the clan rats from the Warhammer starter box in to slaves to fit my brother in laws needs coming next Friday. tomorrow there is a nice introduction to the Terrain 101 articals i will be doing to show any one interested the little things i have learned building the Terrain i have finished. The first "how to" Terrain 101 will be out this Monday. Hopefully i can help pass on the inspiration i have gotten from so many people over the years to some new people and we can all keep the hobby as strong as possible!

I all most finished an ork warboss and a khador war dog yesterday but all most does not count sadly

so it looks like i did all most 100 infantry in the year 7 bikes 2 deffcopters 10 or so tanks and 5 + terrain pieces

not to shabby and most of the year i was really not pushing hard in fact there were large gaps where nothing was getting done at all. so i guess there is nothing to do but start on a fresh year and see where that leads me. seance i have more recently branched out from my 40K core a chunk of what i am doing can't be posted in this thread feel free to follow my blog if you are interested in warhammer fantasy or warmachine work i am doing plus there are a lot more pictures then i am posting in this thread of my 40K stuff.
