Me and a friend are going to a local doubles tourney and it's 875pts each. Now for the hell of it we've decided to go IG teamed with Sisters. Bearing in mind Sisters get the new "codex" treatment in this months WD and neither of us have ever played guard in it's current edition. We thought we'd give ourselves a challenge!!!

Anyways to the point, what we've got down as a starting point is this:
HQ:
CCS w/h 4 GL's- (grenade launchers either str3 ap6 blast or st6 ap 4 assualt1)

Primaris Psyker- 70
(power lightning arc 24" str 6 ap5 assualt 2d6, and night shrouding to shoot unit have to pass a morale check to shoot at target unit)

leman russ battle tank heavy bolter sponsons
leman russ battle tank heavy bolter sponsons

Veteran squad w 3 plasma guns, harker- 3 Infantry squads w/h 3 Autocannons, 2 Grenade launchers, commissar

So thoughts on the list, whats good/bad and what would you recommend?

Cheers in advance for the help guys!

You need a platoon command squad in order to take infantry squads.

Edit: Also, you have nothing to effectively deal with armor 14. Since you have armor 14 in your list it seems reasonable to expect it from other people.

I actually have been playing both armies for quite a while and enjoy them both. Here is my advice:

Outfit your CCS with melta guns and put them in a Chimera.
Leave the Primaris Psyker at home.
Leave the sponsons off of the Leman Russ tanks.
Outfit your veterans with melta guns. Plasma guns are another way of killing off your own men.

As Sam says, your infantry squads are not legal without a platoon command squad (PCS). Outfit the PCS with flamers. The PCS is included in the price of a minimum infantry company.

Leave the commissar at home.

Use any extra points to put the veterans in a chimera.

If you have to get into close combat, let the Sisters handle that for you.

I just did a quick list using my suggestions in Army Builder. Looks to me like you can implement all of my suggestions and end up with both the CCS and Veterans in Chimeras. Give the Chimeras heavy stubbers and you end up at 865 points. Incidentally, outfit the Chimeras with hull heavy flamers. The Chimeras will give you some mobility while also protecting the men inside, who can fire their meltas out of the fire points.
