SoB finally getting some Black Library love, with another book scheduled for later in the year where the Sisters return to Sanctuary 101:

They have also republished Daemonifuge, the last SoB BL excursion from, what, '99 or something.

GW also now has Enforcer (the Shira Calpurnia anthology) up on the SoB page, since the first book has a pretty significant amount of action involving them.

Good to see at long last!

Don't forget they had published Faith & Fire in the interim, which is getting reprinted and published again in December alongside Hammer & Anvil (which is a new novel, having to do with Sanctuary 101). Annnndd then there's Red & Black, due in October.

So, err, I guess Black Library went Sisters crazy lately. Well. Sisters crazy for them. I mean an audio drama and a new novel in the same year along with republishing all the older Sisters-centric stuff (all two of it) is quite something in comparison. Hadn't noticed about Daemonifuge though.

Summary: Yay!

Now if only the parent company could support us like Black Library does we'll be set.

I actually picked this up at Games Day and have listened to about half of it, which was quite good. When I finish with it I'll give you guys a little ditty of a review. I will say I really enjoyed the dual female narration; the ladies do a fine job.

As for Black Library support but no GW support: Really? Really? You honestly think they two don't work in conjuction, and the release of the new Sister book isn't going to coincide with some more Sisters miniature releases? Really?

Yes I do believe it they work in conjunction. This is to go alongside with great new codex release that Sisters are getting. [/sarcasm] There are no new minatures coming out this September, October, or November. Maybe next year but not now. I really think that GW thinks that these things will help push out their remaining stock by highlighting how cool Sisters are. These books are coming out all this year and now woudl really be a great time to relase soem Sisters stuff, but this new codex higlights the fact that we seem to be gettign nothing new.

I'll be honest though I didn't like Daemonifuge as a story about Sisters and most of the art was awful IMO. While Swallow isn't an awful writer he's not a good one either. He at least treats the Sisters with some respect which is more than I can say for most BL authors. I guess I will take what i can get though and every author can improve. I rather enjoyed Flight of the Eisenstein and Nemesis so I have some hope of at least some good new Sister stories if not a great mini and codex release. I do look forward to your review.

And this has Beth Chalmers and Lisa Bowerman.

I can't actually state her my absolute LOVE for Lisa Bowerman in the Bernice Summerfield series. No really, I think there's a restraining order or something (not really)

Sooooo looking forward to this just for the voice actors. (there's something you never here on this forum)

Wow Swallow really loves Sisters. BL pretty much has him as "The sisters" guy now :o

like the cover and VAs are not bad. I need to read Enforcer, is it any good?

[edit] Also yay celestian Miriya is back :D Man I can see her being a special character in a real codex >_>

I was going to get this anyway as I love the audios they are doing - but what REALLY won me over was seeing Beth Chalmers and Lisa Bowerman of Big Finish's Dr who fame!! they are good reasons why BF's dr who stuff absolutely s**ts on the bbc tv series. Llove those ladies voice-work - and now having them as sisters? that alone should be awesome!

I almost ordered that "book". Then I saw that it was an audio book. I'm old enough to read to myself, now. I am holding out for Hammer & Anvil. If it's half the book Faith and Fire is, it will be GREAT!

Thing is it's not a book, it's a drama. There are voice actors and sound effects. Like the radio shows of olden times.

I'm not sure if they put these audio drama in a text format at all...

I don't believe they do generally. Even still, I find these useful for long drives. Or walks even.

Drives and walks are good. I also put them on while painting.

I'm confused... does this actually make you better than the rest of us,or merely pretentious?

Red and Black: the skin colours of a Sister of Battle who won't stop crying, no matter how many times you hit her.

Whats to hate about them? <_> I can't really see a specific reason to hate audiobooks themselves when there are many genres of entertainment that use similar aspects. Sounds more like a general "I tried one before and I was bored, I guess I hate audiobooks" :p

Oh yeah? They don't put a 'better-than-thou' statement like that in your original post.

Further, it would be an appropriate statement if they were simply audiobooks. They are not. There's a ton of production put into them; like someone previously stated, they're much more similar to the radio dramas of the 50s.
