So I know that sisters are coming out in the next white dwarf (which sucks, should have own book) But is all the army going to be in this WD or is it going to be split into two different issues.

At least 2 issues

Back page of last WD says "First part coming next month"

It's probably 2

Hardly, I'd rather them split it two than try and compress the full background, bestiary and rules into one issue of WD. Of course it still isn't as good as a proper book, but there will be one of those too in a year or so if the rumours are accurate.

I'd rather they not compress the full background into a white dwarf codex. nonetheless, for the first month, I hope they provide rules to encourage playability and then follow up with hobby articles and background. That would be my ideal given the unfortunate nature of a WD release. =/

There will be rules in the first issue in the bestiary, but you wonlt be able to play with them as you'll have to wait until the following list to find the force organisation section with all the point costs

Random question....is it confirmed the 2nd half will be the month after? And not a few months down the line? Seems the right amount of dickishness for GW right now....

That rumor doesn't make sense at all. Where did you hear it from?

That rumor doesn't make sense at all. Where did you hear it from?

This has been said in several areas, even by normally credible rumormongers who probably do have real sources. There's an insistence that a full book is coming, but what happened is that the Necrons were supposed to take the August/September slot, but at the last minute got pushed back to November. Sisters were due to come after the Necrons seemingly, but are currently in mid-production with no chance at being ready for full release by August (we were just getting rumors on Sisters packages coming out and rumors on plastic penitent engines when this was suddenly announced). Thus, the decision was made suddenly to put together a White Dwarf Codex Sisters of Battle to kill Allies rules, clean up the mess left by shared units with Codex Grey Knights, and update point costs in the interim. It's half stop-gap and half "We need something to fill this release slot".

The full release will supposedly be released within one year. At least that's what the rumors say. Oh look, salt!

Honest opinion? Quick fix is being rushed out to remove Allies before 'Ard Boyz. The second the first half of that WD Codex hits stands Codex: Witch Hunters becomes invalid.

If I recall, allies were already removed from the current PDF version.

No they said codex trumps all that Allies were still legal the PDF was because they were no longer printing the book

No it won't, because, as already stated, you can't play with only the first half of the codex as it doesn't contain the force organisation section, so you have no idea about wargear options, points costs etc. Which also handily (for GW) means that people that want the SOB codex will have to buy 2 editions of WD, rather than just one.

Correct, Allies are still valid in Codex: Witchhunters, but GW didn't put it in the PDF codex hoping everyone would forget about it, but technically since the original print CWH is valid, so too are the allies rules.

To be honest, the fluff is still there in the old book, so they could have no fluff at all in the WD codex and I wouldn't care. The big loads of fluff will come around when they get their actual codex, for now they're fixing the rules and I think that's just fine. :)

The Sisters codex needs to have a story where 5 sisters destroy an Entire Necron Tombworld.

And another where they determine a whole starship full of Grey Knights to be heretics and kill all of them. Then for some reason where the stomachs of the deceased grey knights as hats for a month

Re-balence out the crappy deal they've got in other codexes fluff

Oh, and the long lost Abbess Sanctorum of the Adepta Sororitas returns after a thousand years spent lost in the warp killing daemons, wiping out cults, and carving fleur-de-lis into the hearts of bloodthirsters. With a spoon. :P

Yes, I'm joking.

No, they need a story where they kill 100 Grey Knights and wear their scalps as trophies...

Only if Matt Ward writes the codex.

I hope you're at Adepticon. You're going to love my team.

And FWIW, the Matt Ward hate is predicated on 3 paragraphs from over 100 pages of material. It's absurd.

Some might debate you on that, but eh, those three paragraphs are enough to make the punchline. ;)

What i don't understand, is there is a lot of hate for a White dwarf codex that hasn't seen the light of day yet. What if it turns out that sisters go from cool to SUPER COOL AND HARDCORE during this "temporary codex".

I was a blood angel player who had to suffer the WD codex, and i didn't mind it. It suggested blood angels were moving towards an assault based troop army and the codex that eventually came just built up from the White dwarf codex. This meant i already had all i needed model wise to start straight away.

The blood angels codex was also worth waiting for, worth having some of it ply tested through the white dwarf codex. if however they rushed it and gave me the white dwarf codex as a full print codex i would have been a content but slightly  blood angels player.

If i was a sisters player, i would rather them take their time on both the range of models and rules by testing the water with a white dwarf codex than have them rush it.

Surely it can only be a good thing, no?
