Help with Daemon Models

The current Daemon product list is pretty well represented with models; but unfortunately many of these models are bad in design, metal, more expensive than their value, or a combination.

I want to ask the BOLS community if you have any suggestions for other models to substitute Daemon units?
Specifically Im very interested in stand-ins for Fiends of Slannesh and Nurglings.

All suggestions are appreciated but try to focus on GW related products if you can, as my current game shop is a GW and has low tolerances on non-GW models.

There was a blog out there which featured plaguebearers converted out of zombies using a hot glue gun. Still GW models but much cheaper. Maybe the blogger has gone on to do other cheap daemon conversions- I'm sure if you google glue gun and plague bearer you'll get it.

I like nurglings, but perhaps you could use horses for fiends of slaanesh, or centaurs?

Heresy Miniatures do a 3 pack of Blights for £9. Might make good Plaguebearer stand-ins.

Cold Ones, usually from the Dark Elf range, are another popular choice for Fiends. There are also some pretty cool drider style kitbashes of Goblin Spider Riders and Daemonettes. It was on the front page less than a week ago.

Plaguebearers can be relatively easily converted from bloodletters:

Goblins to Nurglings should be possible too although I haven't tried yet.

Fiends are a real challenge, I did a major redesign on mine using raveners and daemonettes:

A local daemons player uses riderless Seekers of Slaanesh for his friends. They look great, and they only set him back $25 for 5 (compared to $22.50 for one of the metal fiend models).

Riderless seekers had been brought up in my store, but I'm afraid that they would look incomplete; perhaps bc they are so slim when compared to actual fiends. Do you find this with your local player or are they generally accepted as good proxies?

I was hoping that the storm of magic exp would release good proxy models but none soom to fit the mold of daemons and are quite expensive for more than one

There's long been a snakey-theme to Slaanesh. If I were making Fiends, I'd start with the plastic Raveners...

For Nurglings, I've always loved Snotlings. Paint them red and they're wonderfully daemonic imp-like-things for Khorne fans. I'm sure you could do them pink or something to make them look Slaaneshi.
