I just finished Embedded. I don't realy understand the ending- thone hele characters find a thing which is very important. Does anyone know what the thing is? As far as I interprete it, it's a UFO but I could be wrong. Can any help clear up the rather confusing ending?

You're right, it's evidence of extraterrestrial life, probably a UFO, especially since they talk about reverse engineering stuff they found.

It's such a big deal because despite the fact that humanity has spread among the stars, they've found no evidence of alien life at all.

No sweat. What'd you think of the book overall? I liked it... it was an interesting take on battlefield reporting. The ending was kinda weird, though.

I dunno, a lot of it was taken of avatar and it seemed to lose the plot- did he report what was on the glares etc? As you point out the ending wasn't that great. I didn't think it was that good, if it was the first Dan Abnett book I ever read I wouldn't run out to read another one.
