A while back, I told someone that [BLANK] store was really far away. They were really surprised to hear that there are three stores I go to, all within a 12 miles. There are more, but I don't like driving more than 12. But the one I usually go to is about 3 miles from my house. I seem to hear a complaint about a game store being "way too far" fairly often.

So how far is the game store of choice that must of you go to?

30 minutes. I suppose that's an improvement over the hour it was at the last one I went to.

In my case 20 minutes is the closest game store.

If you think 30 minutes is too far try living in a city like Houston. I spend longer than that driving to work. In many cases you have to take the freeways or toll roads, which add miles to your drive, because the surface roads are littered with stop lights. A trip to the closest store, 15 miles, took over an hour using only surface roads.

250 meters, although as of tomorrow that's changing to about a mile and a half :D

A mile, give or take

20 minutes on foot. Probably takes longer to drive thanks to one ways and poor parking...

10 minutes by car to my local GW but then I live in the UK, there are loads of GW stores and independent retailers with GW stuff

10 mininutes in morning rush hour traffic.

Now my favorite non-gaming Hobby Shop is 2 hours away (piper hobby in Chantilly, VA. which also happens to be next to my least favorite game store...)

dvs1, whereabouts in Hawai'i are you? Was contemplating moving to the islands in the future.
I was concerned that there may be a lack of 40k there!

Where I am now my FLGS is about one mile away as the crow flies. Unfortunately, I can't fly. So by roads it's about four miles. (Dang mountains!)

The closest FLGS is 75 miles south or 85 miles north of me. The closest GW store is about 6 hours away in Memphis. The closest gaming table is 100 feet up a hill from the house.

GW store: about 12 miles/15 minutes away.

Thanks to GW overwhelming the area?

Nearest FLGS: 30+ miles away, in Chicago rush hour traffic (or, like 75-90 minutes away).

There's a good reason I usually play with a regular group of friends--and not just because there are no asshats in the bunch!

If only I knew where a game store in China would be since I'll be moving there soon and missing the Necrons release entirely. The cosplay looks awesome but I just wish I knew where it was!

We don't have a GW store, we will gladly take one from Chicago, since you took ours.

GW's only store in PA is about 10 minutes from home. Their only store in NJ is about 45 minutes, Delaware store is about an hour drive. the 2 Indie stores i visit are within a 40 minute drive. plenty of places to visit, yet there isn't as big a gaming community in the Philly area as you'd think. i hope it changes soon.

Its over an hour to get to a good gaming store around me. And sadly, not a single official GW store within 100 miles of Pittsburgh. What the hell GW?

FLGS: 30 mins
GW: 15-45 mins (the older one in Grapevine takes longer to get to)
This is all while going around 70 mph. Good ol' texas...

I am quite lucky on store locations. I have a GW store roughly 6 miles from home and a GW Battle Bunker store about 7.6 miles from home. I don't have to use a limited access highway at all to get to either if I don't want to and the time to each store using ordinary roads is less than 15 minutes even with some traffic lights.

My closest indie store is 1 mile away according to my odometer.
It's about 3 minutes drive if I get all the lights, and I've walked it in about 20 minutes.

I'm right at an hour's drive from my FLGS. I mainly play with a group of guys about 20 minutes from where I live on a weekly basis with a few other random pick-up events occasionally with some other locals.

It's at least a 6 hour drive to a Battle Bunker for me so never been to one of those.

Well the 3 stores we had in our city are gone. The closet GW store about 1/2 hour away is closed, then the GW HQ in Oakville Ontario Canada closed down, (well they closed first) so the closet GW store is an hours drive (non rush hour) away and closet LGS (not sure if it's friendly) is about an 1/2 hours drive away now.

For an independant retailer shop, I have one at five minutes walking from home and other about 10 minutes in bus...

GW´s shop: the closest one is at 30 minutes in metro, in Madrid city we have 3. Each one of them is 30 minutes away from home

I'm lucky, the FLGS I buy all my stuff from and compete with friends is only 5-10 minutes away, depending if there is traffic. Or if I'm at work on base they have an extension on base as well, nothing like taking a lunch break and coming back with models lol.

On the flip side I have no idea if there is an actual GW store anywhere around me o.O I've never heard of one. Maybe Kansas City has one, but I don't go there often, people seem to forget how to drive once they enter its city limits

There are two FLGS that I frequent, both about 20 minutes in opposite directions. The nearest GW is 9 hours away.
