Those look pretty sweet! Can't wait to see them painted...
How many Ork Trukks did you use to make those scratch builds?
Also what are you using to make the "rivets?" It looks like some sort of metal, and a heck of a lot easier then trying to do that from plasticard!

they look to be small finishing nails/pins. drill where you want them, cut them to length, drop 'em in.

the scratch builds took a total of one trukk plus a spare side piece for the rear.
The Humvee gun and turret came from a spare vehicle sprue
So 3 trukks for the price of 2 :)

Job's a good un.

The rivets came from a friend.
He works in a factory where they have one job that punches very small holes in thin metal sheet. He scooped me a bag of the waste :)

I'm gonna have to talk to him about getting more and selling them on eBay judging by the number of inquiries I've had ;)

Great looking trukks!

So after your friend gave you a bag full of metal dots, I'm guessing you placed them all by hand? All nice and neat? That's not very orky of you! Tsk!

I'll be following this thread to see how they progress! Remember, Red wunz go fasta!

LOL
They're "mostly" neat.
I figured I'd get away with the untidyness because it's orky.

I am one of the original Speed freeks. the only problem I have at the moment is trying to find the brightest red :)
That and deciding on which of the techniques from the FW masterclass book to use

Definatly some awsome trukks. But I also have to compliment you on the Ard Boyz, They look like a big mash of Nobs, Black Orcs, and Blood Bowl Orcs :P Definatly a unique and strikeing result.

Very, very nice indeed, I have to say.
Also, I second the compliment on the paint job! I paint my Orks as Evil Sunz as well, and it´s always nice to see some very well painted minis to draw inspiration from, jobz a good ´un indeed!
Also, I´m very fond of the rather old paints in the background of the first shot ;) Those were the days....

Around here they are still the days ;)

Between that and realising how many of my gaming club had never played space hulk I'm feeling kinda geriatric today

Da boys is back!!

http://lh4.ggpht.com/_8QYdH_fSi4U/SrAQ_qPVcKI/AAAAAAAAEwg/FdFq6nFCHes/s800/PICT5017.JPG

I got a bunch of freehand painting done on these lads. Deliberate mix of black, white, yellow details.
One of the hardest things to convincemyself to do was to go and dirty up all my lovely painted detail. Part of my brain kept jabbering on that I was going to make a Grot's spore out of it.

Now I have to admit that I could probably spend the rest of the month goldbricking this unit but since I've got a tournament coming up that I need trukks for I'm giving them one more pass for fixing paint accidents and doing some tidy up on bases and then they are to be declared DONE, until further notice.

I've pics of each boys in this album

It's the original Squigjuce chugging Hummer ;)

I've a bunch of WIP for the trukks here

Here's the linky to Swampy's WIP thread for his version. He was kind enough to make a template that took a lot of the hard work out of the basic body build
http://www.the-waaagh.com/forums/?showtopic=38912

I'm movingon to the TRukk painting now. Gonna be trying out some airbrush techniques and Forgeworld weathering.
