I'm starting up a project log for my Saim Hann Eldar

You can find the list here (http://saimhanneldar.blogspot.com/2011/06/standard-1500-points-list.html),and some inspiration for the conversions here (http://saimhanneldar.blogspot.com/2011/06/bitz-and-conversion-ideas.html)

Here's the first conversion; a Warlock on a Jetbike. It was a pretty simple conversion to do, only required a small amount of green stuff (not seen on the images)

I also want to mention that these pictures were taken on my phone, they will all be taken on my phone until my new camera arrives, so I apologize for the quality of the pictures (or the lack of it)

So, what do you think?

It's not screaming "warlock" to me? I mean, it's a lovely model. It'd make a perfect Autarch or something.

But is it a warlock? All of the things that really identify things as warlocks (robes, shorter helmets, the special breast-plate) are missing...

Maybe add a cloak? There are some ones that you can pick up from bitz sellers, and the cloak might suggest robes a bit more?

hmmm a very nice conversion! as always something other than the stupid bike heads is good :) i love the simplicity of it, and a GS cloak isnt hard! and if the model dosnt scream warlock paint a massive glowy rune on the front of the bike :P

I can see where you're coming from in terms of it not looking warlocky enough. Adding a cloak would be difficult as the back of the seat on the jetbike would prevent that. I'm going to see what you think of the Jetbike painted up, then I'll consider adding a rune to the front if you think it'll make it look better. I chose the dire avenger heads especially for the warlocks as they seem to have a gladiatorial theme to them, and since Saim Hann are known to be towards the aggressive end of the eldar spectrum (and considering the fluff for the army, but that'll be written at a later date) it seemed a good to idea to make the warlocks (and the farseer) look more like they want combat if that makes sense. I'd like to hear your ideas on this subject.

This is just a quick update; I've managed to get the Warlock on bike painted, aswell as doing the base. I've got a post ready explaining how I painted them, techniques etc. but until I can get the pictures for that post tell me what you think of the finished product (so far!)

Just a few things to say: again I apologize for the quality of the pictures, the paint looks alot thicker on the pictures than it is in real life. Secondly, the bases don't look that good on the close up shots, but as you'll soon see, if you step back a little bit (as no-one will be that close realistically in a game) it has a much greater effect.

This is just a post showing you the base alone from the distance you will most likely see it from:

As always, C & C welcome :D

Wow, I like the lava effects on the bases.

I think if you drop the black hawk going on then you'd be better off or make it or make it more bright and shinny and not a drap black. The base is hot though digging that.

What colour do you think I should paint the Hawk then? And thanks, I'm really impressed with the base myself :D
