What is the stuff that causes decals to shrink to fit smoothly on shoulder pads? And where can you get it in the US?

I use micro set and micro sol. Both available on Amazon.com
Just paint the area, hit it with micro set, then put on your decal, then hit it with micro sol.

Agreed, this is the best method for using decals on any curved surface, not just SM shoulder pads. I've used this on Eldar vehicles, Space Marines, and some fantasy banners.

+1. Micro Sol/Set is what you want. Hobbytown USA carries it, and I imagine any hobby shop that deals in trains, models, or planes/helicopters will as well.

Anyone know if you can get this in Australia?

I've tried to get some liquitex stuff before and its really hard to find anyone that stocks it.
