would anyone know where to find safari hat type conversion kits or something like that that may go well with imperial guard? I was thinking they would be good conversion pieces for some troopers. think of something like this:

Any suggestions? Thanks!

How many do you need? That would be something quick and easy I could make and cast any number of.

The closest I've seen is Col. Gravis' pith helmets (http://www.secretweaponminiatures.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=23&products_id=115&zenid=d155ooqqg6kak0jjdpmftp0ee3). As far as I know the pictures you link to show a civilian pattern of pith helmet (by British standard at any rate).

@ lobster: Well it's all theoretical at this point, so I'm not actually looking for a certain number right now. I don't even own any Imperial Guard, I just thought it would be an awesome conversion idea, and would probably attempt a conversion if I could get my hands on a steady supply I could go back to.

@ eldergal: Thanks for the Link Eldergal! those look good, but I'm looking for the more rounded ones I guess. Those Pith helmets would make great heads for officers though...

the 2 auction links, show what would be, in British Military terminology, Wolesely pattern helmets. The Col Gravis patten is the original 'Pith' Helmet.

Your link looks like helmets on North Vietnamese Army Regulars, this may help you when searching for 28mm spares...

On IG bodies the heads look something like this,

Obviously that is a GW Cadian head, but the helmet shown in the picture is the actual master that was used to create the ones in the Secret Weapon heads. So that should give yo ua pretty good idea of scale.

I'm gonna shamelessly plug the Roughriders I'm sculpting at the moment as well, these will be available privately rather then through a company, probably cast in metal and are compatible with the Secret Weapon heads.

I did do a review on them a while back on my blog, and they are'nt a bad option either.

There are also other options it ought to be said, Wargames Factory do a plastic set, though the size and quality make them unsuitable IMHO, Warlord Games is going to similarly release a set which will probably be a far better sculpt, though size may remain an issue assuming they are true scale 28mm as with their other offerings.

Empress Miniatures are worth a look as well.
