Does a unit that destroys/wrecks a walker in close combat get a consolidate move?
I know the rules say that a walker gets them if it wipes out the enemy, but I cannot find where it actually says that winning infantry get to as well.
The only reference I can find is the overall vehicle rule which says no consolidation.
Page number reference please.
Thanks in advance.

Dreads are not considered vehicles. They are walkers. They are treated like any other infantry unit when winning a combat.
Sorry I don't have the rule book infront of me for page number.

As far as I know you have it correct. I don't know anybody that plays it this way, but I'm not aware of any FAQ or rules reference that would disprove the asymmetry you've noted.

I do believe this is the most relevant sentence to the discussion:
Walkers and Assaults - p73
"Walkers assault like infantry models, meaning that they can... can be locked in combat with enemy units...."
As Walkers assault "like infantry models", logic dictates (perhaps. I've quite given up on how some people see logic...) that the same is done for the opposing infantry: what they see is a single "infantry" model with different close combat rules.
At least, this is how we all seem to be unconsciously RAI'ing it.

I concur, wkz. Certainly my "what does GW actually mean" radar says that you get a consolidate move after beating a walker, for the reason you stated. But technically, it does seem that you don't.
