The new 40K game from THQ draws ever closer, and today the collectors edition details dropped.
Looks pretty snazzy with playing cards, the soundtrack and of course a life size purity seal of your own!
And then from some retailers comes downloadable skins so you don't have to play the Boys-in -Blue if you don't want to!

I'm so torn over where to pre-order from.
Do I go with Gamestop for the Space Pups & Black Templars Skins?
Do I go with Best Buy for the Emperor's Children Skin
Do I go with Wal Mart for the Golden Bolter?
Do I go with Amazon for the Golden Chainsword?
Decisions decisions.

I'm sure the console versions will have the option to download all the skins (and then some) in their respective market places.

Also, check out the screen shots. A female wearing reasonably practical, non-sexualized armor? In a 40k setting? My mind is blown!

My problem is the extra DLC in the UK. You can buy the game from a dedicated game retailer (Game, Gamestation) and get crap DLC (the skins). Or you can buy it from a crap retailer (who buys games from Blockbuster or Sendit?) to get the useful stuff.

It looks like an IG grenade launcher to me.
I would've liked Dark Angel skins, but my wife loves Space Wolves so we'll be getting the Wolf / Templar preorder bonus through Gamestop. I'm not paying the extra $40 for the "special" edition, though. It doesn't even have a statuette that most of the extra-expensive special editions have these days. Can you imagine how many people would have gone with that just for a high quality 4-6" model? That feels like a missed opportunity.

Steam gets the Blood Ravens skin and a free copy of Darksiders. Steam has no problem there. :P

Now you're just making me sad. I would really love to spend a day with GWs marketing department; I feel like they miss out and/or blow so many opportunities.

Well it used to be too expensive to cast up a limited edition mini for a collectors edition in metal*, in resin it might be more feasible.
*Though I think Shadow of the Horned Rat had a miniature in it, back when plastics were monopose an metal was cheap.

Blood raven skins and Darksiders.
Already own darksiders, so I will not be splashing out the $90 odd AUS that steam wants. I'll probably just import the collectors for $60, seeings as the game uses steamworks anyway.

Ah, for an Iron Hands skin I would pay almost any price..
I'd assume we'll get plenty of other chapters as DLC at some point, likely all the chapters featured in DOW2..
