Can they just release IA11 already?

am i the only person who is a bit disappointed with these?
they could be far more dynamic, rather than the same old static "look we're space marines" poses
nice armour tho
verdict, can do better

Yeah, I may need to get the Mk III's. I'm using the tactical squad as the basis for an Iron Hands army I'm putting together.

I agree with Morgan Darkstar; could be more dramatic. However, they are resin, so easy enough to convert, especially compared to the metal vanguard vets. I think I may need to get me some for a vet squad, probably the Mk III. Much more Siege-y in my opinion.

Well, bear in mind they come as pieces. Maybe the legs could have been done in variations other than standing, but I'm not certain how dynamic you could get with the rest, since they come as just arms, torso and head. How those models look in the picture has more to do with how the modeler chose to display them, not how they could be put together.

These look very similar to MaxMini jump packs, which have been out for ages now:

Were the MaxMini jump packs imitating older GW art, or is this a case of GW imitating the imitators?
I seem to recall seeing similar jump packs in the 1st Edition Rogue Trader rulebook, in artwork by Ian Miller, by my memories are hazy.

They are based on the old GW Rogue Trader design. I like them.

Didn't know that... thanks for the info.
Back when the very first "Imperial Space Marines" box set came out I made jump packs by gluing rubber Zoid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoids) caps onto the exhaust ports of the marine backpacks. I remember basing them off the Rogue Trader artwork, but it's been such a long time that I forget what the artwork looked like in the first place.
After 1st edition, I got out of 40K for a very long while so I never saw any official jump packs until much later, and by then they looked more or less like the boxy ones that are used now.

Ooooh. Those look really nice. I like the fact that the mark III has jump packs. If you ask me they would be a tad too heavy, no?
I hope this means that they might be considering releasing the Mark IV suits with Jump Packs. They were always my favorite of all the "older" marks.

Why not? Forgeworld are a subsidiary of Games Workshop aren't they. These are basically GW models, so I fail to see why you wouldn't be allowed to use them in a GW store. I've never seen anyone have problems using Forgeworld models in a GW store; Forgeworld rules is another question :-D
I really like these, and the whole range of older armour marks that Forgeworld are doing. I think my favourite is the dual-pistol guy. I'm also intrigued by the minor differences between the two sets of jump packs.

It's Mark II, actually, not Mark III.

Well... In Spain they donīt allow you, even with GW Forgeworldīs models.
I donīt know in Scotland, but here, in Spain, the rules is that miniatures they donīt sell on the store, even the old edition ones, are not allowed

Thats probably more down to the store manager being an asshat
never seen anyone have a problem with forgeworld minis here in Newcastle "could just be a UK thing tho"
