I've always been kinda curious, those of you who play Space Marines, what chapter do you play?
In my limited W40k experience, I haven't played against another Space Marine player yet, weirdly enough, and GW would certainly have me believe that Ultramarines are everyone's go-to chapter choice.
Personally, I play White Scars, though I'm looking to add a lot more bikes to actually embrace the chapter's tactics.
So, what do you guys play? And bring on the snappy answers, heretics, I'm ready for 'em! :D

Currently on Salamanders though I have played Black Templar, and Dark Angels.
Like the Salamanders the best so far...

Used to play wolves until everyone started playing wolves with the new codex. Now happily playing the drop happy Blood Angels DOA. Which oddly enough no one plays around here.

Space wolves.
We attack when provoked and never give mercy to our enemies. We give those without fear, pause. We are the things that go bump in the night. We keep what we take, and no one will stop us. We fight with a force that dates back to the days of the Emperor, our all-father. We fight with the fury and strength of our past brothers; and with the ancient pacts that our Primarch created, we conquer on with the mightest strength of arms against any foe... we are the wolves of space and when we're on the prowl, the whole universe will take shudder...
Need proof? look at the all the rage and fear our newest codex sparked.

My own chapter, a Raven Guard successor called Mantis Guard with a scheme based on the Praying Mantis PMC from Metal Gear Solid 4. Emphasis is on being resourceful, efficient, and choosing tactics over a hammer blow. A counts-as Shrike is the Captain that leads my detachment.
Making your own chapter is fun with C:SM.

You haven't played another SM army yet? That's pretty much unbeleivable to me. I made my eldar to beat SM back in the day, since everyone and their 40k playing dog played a SM army. Or so it seemed.
I personally play Dark Angels pure Ravenwing for now, as I'm working on a Deathwing force to go with them.
Are they the "right chapter"? Probably not. I would think that a Space wolve or Berserker heavy CSM army would be right for me. Straight to the point in your face kind of army.

Blood Angels, always Blood Angels.
The reason, I went to the GW shop and had money to buy some 40k, I was all set on a 5 man squad of terminators and I'd have probably painted them poster boy blue as well, but then I saw the Death Company Box set, more miniatures (10 men + Chaplain) less price and I fell in love with the background on the box (this was my first introduction to the fluff on the back of the box).

Black Templar. For our goal is a human galaxy. And if I need something a bit more subtler the Raven Guard.

Well I started in 4th edition and the day I started I got the Space Marine Battleforce, code and a bunch of paints and the like. I became an Ultramarines player just because I liked the colour scheme funnily enough :p

I´ve started playing in this 5th Edition with Ultramarines, more equilibrated, and Space Wolves, more agressive...
I also like Blood Angels, but I cannot afford a 3rd army

Smurfs, Wolves and a small Grey knight contingent. I love my space wolves although smurfs are my largest army, mainly because both me and my brother collected them. Although i do have some xenos and really enjoy eldar shame i cannot add a dark version of my craftworld.

Black Legion. I loved their fluff and how they were the face of Chaos SM's. Then I read the 3 core books of the Horus Heresy series and it only reaffirmed my choice. I also enjoy how every Chaos affiliated chapter has had people join Abbadon's cause.
Truth be told though, I've always been a huge Tzeentch and Thousand Sons fan. I'd love to start a Thousand Sons force if 1)more of it wasn't metal and 2) Thousand Sons weren't God-awful in the CSM codex. I love everything about them, how Magnus came to his decisions, their fall, etc. I even bought the Inquisition War omnibus so I could read more about the Thousand Sons, Ahriman, etc. I still haven't read A Thousand Sons for fear it won't live up to my expectations or all the hype I've heard.

Agreed thousand sons is very good as is forgotten sons in age of darkness though they do both shout some dirty secrets about well ... anyway... Mustn't do spoilers
I said I'd never play marines ever :-) dirty 3+ cheating so and so's with so much versatility that they become boring :-p and codex marines are just so damn cheap good god!!! You get how many t4 3+ guys in a 1500 Jesus!!
But everyone else was taken for the campaign we're doing so i went withthe only marines i could stomach dark angels ravenwing :-) so much scout move i love it :-) and maybe when the company is done some deathwing

Well technically I have some Blood Angels, Space Wolves and now Grey Knights..
BUT my real SM army is always my Ultramarines :D I don't care if people hate on the ultras, imo they're plain awesome and better than all the rest ;P

Raven Guard all the way. Fast, resourceful, intelligent and independent. My army is focused around scouts and marines in drop pods (along with a Dreadnought). Shrike leads a outflanking assult squad with a Chaplain that hits pretty hard. And EVERYTHING is fleet of foot! There is nothing quite like the look on your opponents face when he realises that you have fleet terminators.

Black Templars - To do otherwise is heresy.
and
Iron Hands - For the flesh is weak.

I play Iron Hands (because 40K's cybernetics are cooler than anything else in the setting), Blood Angels (for the Sanguinary Guard), Grey Knights (because the new plastics are spiffy), Deathwatch (because I love the RPG), and Deathwing (because I love Terminators).

I've always liked Dark Angels, and it's broken my heart to see them get worse and worse over the years.
Sometime before the start of 4th edition, I took up Dark Eldar as my main army instead.
Eagerly awaiting the return of the Lion.

Yeah, I thought it's been sort of strange myself. Orks, Tau, CSM, Eldar and IG, but never another SM player to date. Though to be fair I wouldn't be playing Space Marines myself if it weren't for Black Reach. I'm eagerly awaiting the next 'Cron Codex.

Grey Knights because I have nothing but the metal mini's. Plan to buy Crowe and run a Purifier force. I also have completed aquiring my Space Marine company. I run them as a codex successor chapter with drop pods for all the tac squads and 2 dreds. Also tend to run alot of flamers with them.
