I spent all last night drooling (metaphorically) over the new Dark Eldar kits. Then I go to sleep and find myself dreaming that I'm a Succubus. I pick up my brand new Venom from the factory showroom, the keys handed to me by Troy McClure* (you may remember him from such shows as The Simpsons). I shoot off to the arena where I have lots of fun fighting. I get killed brutally by a carnifex, my mother says 'you dozy cow I told you to work on your flexibility' and I wake up. At half past five, grr.
So I'm thinking I may be spending a little too much time focused on 40k at the moment.
Anyone else had similar experiences? Dreams, accidentally called your girlfriend Lelith, had a terrible faux pas when you misunderstood someone talking about SoB, etc.
*Seriously.

Ma'am do you want to come with us quietly or would you rather go for the "kicking and screaming" method?:D
In all honesty, I have't yet although I do find myself drifting out of conversations, thinking about a new tactic, addition to my army, etc.
I still think I have my sanity...for now

I usually dream that I'm a U-Boat captain, but I have dreamed about being an Eldar or Dark Eldar.

Never quite reached this level
But when with my friends I play with, we can slip to 40k in the blink of an eye in normal conversation, and then back just as fast.

Could be worse, you could be dreaming about inflicting nurgle's plagues on your co-workers and laughing evilly as they disintegrate under the assault of 777 different virulent toxins.
Not that this has ever happened to me of course.
Just an example.

I once dreamt that we were invaded by chaos space marines and I ran around killing them by plugging up the exhausts of their rhino's with socks... have a feeling that wouldn't work/I wouldn't survive long enough to do that, but dream logic never did make sense?
At work I often find my self drifting off and thinking about whateveer project I'm working on. Usually fine, so long as I'm not standing at a customer's table with their food in my hand and not having given it to them :P
DrLove; We never slip back quickly... it's usually an hour or so before we get back to 'normal' conversation!

Haha. I love 40k but I don't think I've gone this far over the edge, yet....
Well, I have had a dream of a space marine with a heavy bolter singing christmas songs....

Dreaming about gaming is just a step or so shy of dreaming about work.
Neither, imo, are necessarily good things...
Very interesting bit about Troy McClure, though.

Remember when they did those studies about the Tetris Effect? People who played too much tetris started dreaming about falling blocks?

Something similar mayhaps...

I still have awful dreams about being a server in a restaurant. Every time I wake up in a panic. It's the worst.
Strangely, whenever I dream about being an 8-foot tall superhuman slaughtering the masses, I wake up oddly fulfilled and well rested.
Hmm.......

Looking to buy a new home. What's the real estate value in the Dark City?

When I dream, I basically dream up my own heavy metal music videos.
O.o;;;;
But on the topic of Warhammer effecting you. Yesterday out of rage I calling someone a "C*** Gnoblar Git", so to say the least it has made my swearing more colorful.

Its true, there's nothing like cursing the false god-emperors name at the top of your lungs when a large object falls on your foot at work to make other employees avoid you! :D

Played 40k for over 20 years.
Haven't had a 40k dream yet, that I know of**.
** I honestly don't recall if I dream or not. It's something to do with how I wake (too quickly and the dreams, like fleeting ephemera, escape. Apparently, you need to wake slowly to preserve any of it.).

I suspect there are a few people who post here who have had that particular dream where you are a Succubus
But in all seriousness, I did once dream my town was under attack by Genestealers hmmm, slightly odd!

i had a dream where i was in WW1 (guns and everything), then the Germans turned into orks and it went 40k from there it went off into 40k land, and ended with SM drop pods crushing the ork charge across "No man's land". Stupid alarm clock...I wish i could have that dream again, but i don't know what started it off or what. :( :(

Thats very weird. Did you ever checked if you are - really a gal? Maybe your hormone level is a little bit out of range:p:eek:
I sometimes think about 40K when I go to sleep (especially, when I worked on a campaing or the next day is a tournament) - but I never ever dreamed about that. Dreamed a lot of weird things but not about tabeltop - i play that stuff for 20 years or so.

So true mate.....for me and my friends its an vortex with no way out.
I dreamd once about 40k...it was night after last gamesday in UK, I spend hours staring at posters with Dark City, my dream was "classic" I was falling down for very long, enjoying to some degree scenery around me and than died by hiting one of lower rooftop spikes.
By classic I mean I dream a lot about my end by falling from somewhere, most disturbing thing about it is fact that I feel excitement mixt with joy(flying) and fear. Weird ha?

When I was a younger lad and a bit more keen, I used to dream army lists. THAT is how you know you are too into 40K. Literally, dream up point combinations and unit configurations. Frightening.

I had a 40k/work cross-over dream last night. I was working in the restaurant, a group of spacemarines came in and killed the deputy general manager of the hotel and then asked for a table for 5. They only wanted the venisson cappaccio, something light... they seemed to be very good friends with the general manger when he turned up though.
Was oddly satisfying watching the chainsword pop out of his back. Weird thing is, I actually like the guy and he's a very good manager
