I just noticed something interesting today (not sure if someone has pointed it out before or not). I saw on my RSS reader a new post on Blood of Kittens that was titled "Breaking Sisters Rumor" but now that I click and try to read it the website tells me that the account "has been suspended."

Anyone else have any more info on this?

Haha, BIG GW is watching!

To paraphrase it, for those who didn't get a chance to see it, I read it earlier today and it basically said that the sisters were getting a 2 part white dwarf chapter approved style update and that a combined PDF would be out late this year or early next year. Matt Ward was supposedly writing it and the metal casts were getting resin recasts. Not a whole lot of info, but some. Tastytaste has been talking about that for a while now.

So the suspension may have nothing to do with the content. Maybe he didn't renew his subscription or someone posted something bad in the comments?

When I read it this morning it wasn't Matt Ward it was Robert Cruddace.

Found on the interwebs:

"I want to confirm for everyone that the Sisters new “book” will be coming out sometime this year (most likely before the Necron release). There is more– SoB will be White Dwarf only release stretched over two issues, with a online PDF by the end of the year. I had reported this possibility (in a cryptic matter before) on BoLS, so this is a confirmation of said rumor. Cruddace will be the author for PDF as well. No word on new sculpts, but my bet is on only resin recast of existing models. As for the rules I have nothing to report as of yet, but look for at least two ecclesiastical characters from the fluff/past to appear in the new dex."

Hard to imagine he would get banned for that. Was there a picture posted?

DakkaDakka had a copy/paste of what was said, or at least an excerpt.

If it had actually said Matt Ward I'd have called it a trolling. Might still be, but if true I'd hope it's just a stop gap measure to update the codex to 5th edition, maybe in preparation for 6th, otherwise it's a pretty major stab in the face to the Sisters of Battle. Like many have noted, if GW is really going for 6th in August 2012 and really want to update all armies to 5th before this happens they're kinda running out of time to do it, and it's doubtful they could release a full fledged codex for every army still not in 5th before then. White Dwarf would make sense to make up the release issues, but even then that's still gotta hurt the Sisters, given how once the Necrons get their new Codex, the Sisters will be the only one who had their last codex released before 4th edition.

No kidding. The Sisters players are going to march on GW and Purge the heretics in cleansing flame.

I would not be surprised if they were to spare Phil Kelly and Jes GODwin. Otherwise I am sure a few like minded Sisters players (admirers) will lead the charge and make GW a towering inferno of religious fanaticism using sticks and harsh language (and maybe the odd flamer or meltagun here and there).

Could it be GW is not sure how to do Sisters espically with a new edtion change, so they did a Stop gap measure like they did with Blood Angles and then 2 years later do a proper codex for them?

This way they can gauge how the Sister players react to the PDF and then change it accordingly to what they need. This way if they take faith points away, GW will know how pissed or happy or disapointed people are to it.

Like most of BoK rumours its just a mishmash of outdated rumours and nonsense. Every reliable rumourmonger has said SoB are getting a proper book, GW themselves have said their attempts at WD codices failed miserably and that the concept is dead. We had a similar outbreak of WDcodex/pdf codex nonsense when the old book was put up on the website as a pdf, this is probbaly just that recycled to get BoK some attention.

Of course as with all rumours, who knows for sure outside of GW.

Thank you. I have a hard time believing the rehashed tripe that is taken from other rumour mongers and twisted to the point that BoK can brand it their own. Its sickening how they try to monopolize rumour mills by attempting to take out the competition.

No army deserves the WD dex treatment. GW has learned from their mistakes on this one.

But didn't Jess Goodwin "confirm" at last Gameday he was working on plastic sisters? Specifically, that they have taken what they learned from making the Dark Eldar Wytches, and using it on the new SoB models? I remember specifically it being said that before the techniques they learned doing the wytches, they were struggling to do Plastic SoB.

Not to mention the rumors from multiple sources saying sculpting on new SoB hero types started around the time the Grey Knights were winding down.

From thows rumors it sounded like GW already put so much work into the new sisters models in general. I don't get why they would shelf the model side of the project and end up sitting on them for at least another two years, just to release them with a full book later?

That's a alot of time, money and effort tied up in a model range that you would not be making back it's investment.

Blood of Kittens were pretty accuret with their Dark Eldar and Grey Knight Rumors. But I think they horribly missed the mark on this one.

Why later? Several rumourmongers have said the book is still due out in November. Also GW sits on things for years sometimes before releasing them. They have plenty of kits ready to go into production when the release schedule allows it, Craftworld Eldar jetbikes for one.

BoK got their DE and GK rumours from other sources, GK in particular they got that leaked codex along with lots of others, they just wrote it up faster.

Eh. Just acknowledging their past track record so far, it is something feel should be taken in consideration. I don't moderate all happening in the 40k blog-o-sphere, so I never knew they stole the rumors from someone eals. Thanks for the tip thow.

I think the best way to explain what I'm trying to say is. The Rumors so far seemed to hint that work on the range was steadily progressing. So with a model range that is nearing completion why write a temporary PDF codex? Why not work on a full codex, as to allow the range to be released as soon as the release schedule allows? Even if that's another year?

It's one thing to sit on a single plastic Daemon prince for ever, but another for a whole range. That seems like something you would want to make a point to get out as soon as it's ready.
O.o

BoK is the crazy reporter of rumor-mongerers. Reliable enough, I suppose, but you might as well skip them and just go straight to the source and not have to deal with all the fake hype. I mean, really, requiring people to join just to see the full rumor set. You know people will just wait an hour and find it posted on every single other 40k blog in existence.

Please don't let it be true. I started with Sisters and though I've expanded into other armies, I was eager to see a whole codex devoted to them with new sculpts as well. I think GW has a real opportunity to push the the style of the sisters forward as they did with the DE. The current models, especially if only offered in resin, are too bland even in comparison to newer plastic models.

Honestly, I think they're really missing out if they move forward with this.

I don't think the Necrons have anything to worry about. Even if this does happen, I doubt it justifies a major release slot, so it shouldn't affect anything major (could be wrong). This would be little more than a glorified FAQ, not a release, unless the plastic Sisters come out with it, then I expect it won't be until the PDF release mentioned at the end of the year. Of course if plastic Sisters come out with it that probably means GW is just testing the waters to see if anything more is justified, which is odd if you ask me. I just don't see this sort of release getting the kind of exposure the Grey Knights and Dark Eldar got, and I think that's what really pushed both armies back into the foreground out of obscurity, and with the Necrons coming around the corner I'd be disappointed to see the Sisters end up with the short stick.

But hey, it could be wrong. I mean after all GW has been doing to give love to the older armies that don't get as much lately, it seems odd that they'd foresake just that one army. I think most Sisters players would prefer a proper Codex some time in the next year to a White Dwarf/PDF combo, but at least it would imply the possibility of a proper Codex early in 6th Edition.

I remember either reading or hearing on either GW's "blog" or one of their videos that they built the reavers up to a certain point, and then continued with the Dark version. Sounded like they implied that the basic design would be used in the future to create a Craftworld version of the jetbike.

That would be fine with me, because the DE range is awesome, and if they can make a new Eldar range equally awesome I'd be very happy :)
