This Ork Skorcha (http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/217605-Ork%20Skorcha%20WIP.html) was built from a plastic GW Wartrakk model which appeared quite out of date compared with the current range of Space Orks. To modernize the look I used bits from the Ork Warbikes kit to upgrade the rider and the fairing. The Skorcha turret is built from various parts from the Ork Stompa, Deff Dread, and Killcannon.

Even by ork standards it looks a little rickity. I'd put Bracing struts on the sides.

I agree, it could use some support, or maybe just some hoses running down into the base.

I really wish GW would update the warbuggy/wartrakk models. They're so horrible looking, like the old trukks. They've already got a decent base with the warbikes, why not just take it that last step?

Agreed! Still, looks pretty great so far.

Hmm, I appreciate the constructive suggestions, but I'm not sure if I like the idea of a bunch of hoses running to what is ostensibly a turret with a 360-degree rotation. But I had considered adding a few more bits to make the chassis look a little more robust before painting. We shall see. Thanks.

Tere is a stable ring at the bottom of the turret. You could put braces t there and the turret would still be able to turn 360 degrees without a prioblem. Here's a quick drawing of it I did. you might want to put the hose into this same ring form the back, or a third strut

I could do a lot of things and just like GW's actual production model designs a thousand people would like to tell me what I should have done instead and half the suggestions will contradict the other half. Suggestions are appreciated, but in the end the modeler ultimately decides what ideas and aesthetics they like best.

Here's the finished Skorcha fully painted. It was a fairly quick project, but fun nevertheless and it should look appropriately "Ork crazy" zipping around the tabletop.
