View Full Version : Kitting out the carnifex

Recentley I looked to my tyranid army being I havent used it for a while. I noticed that my army is pretty expensive points wise e.g. termagants with devourers
Then I looked at my fex and asked myself a question;
Why on earth did I give it crushing claws?!
I mean it completly nulifies its battering ram rule, it makes him 185 points, and thats without giving him something like bio-plasma.
So I did what any good tyranid general would do.
I tore off the crushing claws and looked for a substitute. In the end I settled for twin-linked devourers. Its 10 points less but gives him a really nice shooting attack IMO.
Just wondering what everyone else would kit their carnifex out with.

I know personally that I magnetize all my MC's and my tyranid warriors, so I can choose how I want to kit them out whenever i do so. I can just switch out the arms as desired.

For a shooty build I'd go with two TL-Devs or a Venom Cannon and a TL-dev.

For a CC build I'd go either a stock or maybe add bio-plasma. If a loner and it worked with the rest of the army, I'd consider a spore.
