hi fuzz here

recently ive been* painting some grey knight termies
(* VERY SLOWLY)
but i have a problem: the casts are horrible! the I shape on the leg is deformed on most of them, some of the knee-side-plates go into the leg and the crux on the cloak blends back inrto the cloak to name just a few.

now i know this is not a new thing at all (most of the space hult termies had this problem too) but has anyone else had this problem with the terminators or the power armoured dudes? space hulk was a limited run so i suppose they wouldnt have had such a nice mold... but a brand new plastic set! i may as well just convert regular termis!

so has anyone esle had this problem or should i have a chat with the local GW store manager?

thankyou

fuzz

p.s. 2 of the termies can be viewed at my blog \/

It's a limitation on mold design, no undercuts allowed on injection molded plastic. Only way to avoid it is to break the model into even more parts.

The little things like a wavy I is something i can overlook, however I've seen only slight/little if that issues with my termys, and i do agree that the old metal ones over all to the new plastic ones.:rolleyes:

Definitely something wrong with the mold that made these lol

Looking at the first pic, I thought it was missing pieces. Like some factory line guy was like I need a few more shoulder pads and a halberd thank you very much. But that is crazy seeing that the plastic never got into some parts of the mold. I suppose this happens every once in a while. Hopefully they will just send you a new kit and you can keep all the extra bits.

This problem first poked its head with LOTR minis, now it seems to be spreading :(

@Nicho

They will replace that kit no problem, but its kinda funny how you have blunt swords and warped shoulder pads- keep the frame for conversions lol.

Take that sprue into a GW store, or send pictures to GW customer service, and they will send you a new box.
