Anyone ever heard of the HULC (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdK2y3lphmE&feature=related)? It's a powered exoskeleton that the US Army has recently started testing. The company came and gave a presentation at my college the other day on the system.
There are a variety of exoskeletons out there, but this is the only one that would be practical for military use at the moment. Apparently it's such a game-changer for infantry that the Army testing is as much about figuring out how best to use the system as it is with testing the suit.
Edit: Unrelated, but I just found this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Jkn8brWg1I&feature=fvwrel
