So I haven't been on in a while, and I was thinking about making my army a bit more mech with Robots and I like the fluff of having squads of them like IG troops. so is there any cool looking robots that would work.
any thuoghts or CC

From any of the fluff I've read, it doesn't seem like robots of that nature even exist. I could be wrong, but as long as you check with your opponent before you play, I can't see there being much of a problem.
Of course, there's always Necrons if you're into the whole robots thing...

Robots unfortunately got retconned after Rogue Trader days. Then, they were in use (with some pretty complex rules sets) and then GW went all "Dune" on their universe.
Not sure how to work robots into a space marine army but they would make good replacements for IG heavy weapons teams and Ogryn.
Technically, robots with an AI are banned in the Imperium (something about them running amok. AI is a crapshot (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AIIsACrapshoot) explains it perfectly).
BUT there are ways around this restriction:
- Be part of the Adaptus Mechanicus and modify yourself into an almost wholly mechanical beast.
- Use the "much weaker than true Artificial Intellegence" Machine Spirit on a non-humanoid "body". Think Servo Skulls, LandRaiders,Cyber Hawks, etc. (personally, I think "Machine Spirits" are fuzzy logic programs... but I digress)
- Use a brain. Quite literally. Servitors, Mechanical Cherubs, etc are all "built" by getting (a) a human, (b) lobotomizing it, (c) add mechanical parts, and (d) "programming" it to do tasks. Sometimes they even forgo the lobotomize step: just pump the poor fellow full of drugs, and he's a close combat "machine"

Exactly. Replace heavy weapon teams with gun-heavy robots or Mechanicus Praetorian Combat Servitors, and Ogryns are replaced by close-combat robots or servitors.
Servitors have a (heavily technologically- augmented) human or Ogryn brain and body at the core, while Imperial robots are all mechanical and have a very crude artificial brain that lets them take simple, everyday non-combat actions and have more complex, but still limited, programs loaded into them for battle.
In case you haven't seen them, pictures of the Rogue Trader-era Imperial Robots can be found at http://www.zachary.org/games/gw/robots.jpg and there are some rather nice Jes Goodwin concept sketches at http://fromthewarp.blogspot.com/2010/05/rogue-trader-fridays-imperial-robots.html.
I also rather like this scratchbuild: http://sanguinesons.blogspot.com/2011/01/imperial-robot.html
