Was just looking at the Eldar Phantom Titan design vid, when the designers were asked about Forgeworld models appearing in codices. One of them said that GW sometimes takes Forgeworld models and puts them in codices, and as examples he gave the Valkyrie, the drop pod, and ''SOME TAU THINGS''. In other words, expect Forgeworld models in the new codex!

They've already done that. You sure they were hinting at future things?

Pretty sure, I do not know of any FW Tau units in the current codex.

The pirhana for instance started as FW didn't it?

Also, in the current GK book is the FW Dread model pictured.

They were referencing the Pirahna...

I have not heard anything is going into the new book from FW.. nothing on heavy drones, knarlocs etc...

But then again that doesnt make it so....

The Sky Ray was originally FW as well if I remember right.

I'm hoping the XV-9s make it to the new codex. They're great models and the rules for them are fun.

Yeah, I'm hoping for them too but I sort of think ForgeWorld came out with those so that GamesWorkshop could have the XV-89 suits.

I also really hope that GW re-designs the Crisis Suits to match the Forgeworld ones. Sorry GW, but your crisis suits are fugly!

Starting with the Tau Piranha and moving on to the Baneblade, Valkyrie, Trygon and other kits. GW has gotten bold about moving popular ideas from Forge World to their main product line GW kits. The scanning and CAD technology they purchased several years ago makes it cheap and easy to do compared to before the advent of such technological wonders and we'll surely continue to see product ideas tested at FW moved to the GW product catalogue in the future.

After seeing the FW crisis suits I could never go back to the original design.

I'd like to see the various HH turrets in the next codex (I know the competitive types may not want as they aren't uber effective) I'm more of a fluff player, win/lose no biggie as long as the game had a good narrative.
Also the tetra would be a good unit to have in the codex, I have a pair from FW and they are great fun as an annoyance unit.

That one off the cuff remark seems a bit thin to base the hope that the current FW Tau stuff is going to make it into GW hands. Of course, it would be a bleeping waste not to do so...

Then again, I was quite disturbed by the indications that FW and GW work so far apart from each other. It would be like the research kitchen at a restaurant chain not only not sharing with the main restaurants, but hoarding the really good stuff and competing with the main chain. Not just wasteful, but actively counter-productive and harmful to the long-term health of the entire corporation...

I like the original Crisis suits better. I have 2 XV-9 suits and use them as commanders.

Actually no, the Tau thing they are referring to is the Barracuda (a flyer) which is already in the Summer of Flyers release - which is Apocalypse, not 40K.

Eh I think the FW ones are terrible. I started collecting tau for the GW ones and I hope they never change them. Having an option for both is fine, but I'd hate if if I had to use FW tau suits...

You are freaking weird. FW suits are 110% better looking and all around cooler looking than the horse crap "legoman" GW suits. (wifes nickname for them)

As much as it would be nice, there has been no mention of the FW Tomb Stalker(Necron MC) making it into the new Necron codex yet either so its not a given fact thats wot they lookin at doin...Shame on both counts IMO:(

They're referring to the Piranha and Sky Ray, which were FW-only model prior to Codex Tau Emprie.
