I was really excited to get the new Dreadknight kit and magnetize the Hell out of it. I'm not a magnetizing expert by any means, but this was an easy piece of work. What's amazing is that you could almost build the kit to be swappable without magnets. Of course, magnets work a lot better.

I haven't seen anyone else posting about this topic yet, so I'm curious how other folks might have done the same thing. I personally cut off the upper hydraulics because I mostly didn't like the way it looked, and that made the whole thing a little easier.

Anyway, here's how I did it:

Has anyone else tried this yet?

I plan on doing the same myself. I was planning on making the weapons on it's arms removable as well as the hands itself.

I am also planning on doing this with the Terminators, I thought the fact that the hands themselves are now separate pieces could make it really easy to just magnetize their wrists so that I can swap in the various NFW and firearms. The only thing this wouldn't work with is if I had to attach the arms in a specific pose to allow for the dual handed grip of the Pike. Otherwise, I like the idea of being able to go between weapons instead of buying a ton of boxes.

With the Terminators, I think there are arms that go with weapons, so you might end up being able to magnetize them at the shoulder. Doing the hands would be extremely delicate work.

There's some videos on my blog that explain this a little better.

I also magnetized the terminator heavy weapons:

Very nice work! That's a very cool way of magnetizing him, too.
