Chaos!!! Just thought I'd drop a few pics of some WIP Word Bearers. Still trying to find a color for the armor I like. So far the colors on this terminator I like the most.

This one was a Dark Apostle conversion I did a while back, it's okay. I'm not 100% happy with it.

Part of the problem is you can't exactly appreciate the difference of color between the reds (if there is one). As far as I can tell, the differences seem to be the trim, eyes, and power weapon effects.

I dig the blue powerfist and the way the terminator looks, though for me the silver trim could be a shade darker.

The first terminator's armor is lighter then the reg marines, I used a base color using Mecharite Red foundation paint followed by a badab black wash. Then repainting the mecharite red over the armor leaving the recesses shaded black, followed by a highlight of scab red/ blood red/ and the highest points with blazing orange, then a baal red wash. Yea I think the trim looked better when it was just boltgun metal with black wash. I think once I matte varnish the miniature it will flatten the metal a lot.

Standing the terminator and the melta gun marine / champions side by side you can see a difference. But in the pictures the diference is very subtle

sorry I'm really bored in the few hours before work every day lol. Hate closing shifts cause I wake up and pretty much everything I do revolves around waiting to go to work. But back on topic here is a better picture to show the differences in the armor color.

also thanks, first attempt at "glowing" power fist.

on second thoughts the termi has nicer armour BUT the green eyes contrast with the red!

Yea green is a great contrast from red but It always reminds me of christmas lol. I thought blue would be more noticable and steer away from the normal contrasting combination of red/green

Looks good. I like the blue eyes over the green, too.

I'd stick with the green. Better contrast and imho more fitting for a chos termi. That blue looks so "loyalist-like"... ;)

I'm considering reversing wordbearers colours - silver armour, red trim. Other than that, nicely executed.

Hmm, never seen that before. I remember seeing in a WD years an years ago someone had replaced the silver trim with a brown / leather like trim. Thanks for the compliments :D

very nice... that is a fantastic termi the only advise is would it be possible to make the blue glowy eye on the termi?

but even if you dont a fantastic model!

I could definetily give it a shot, will probly make the blue lenses look a little better and not be as bright.

Yeah nice looking termie, my only critique would be that the armour is all a bit "clean" as a chaos marine i like to see rusted, dirty crusty armour. But I understand that its all personal taste and I like the paint job. A little bit of filigree here and there though would look the nice :)

Yeah, need to work on my freehand skills so I can paint the chapter badge. I sadly dont have any micro pens to do any sort of scripture easilly.
