Unconventional, certainly. I think pure footslogging is hard. You have zero mobility, not even a landspeeder or bike. Already you're playing at a loss against more agile opponents in objective games.
That said, I think it can work. If only because the opponents have no real target to shoot those single shot anti-tank weapons that the metagame requires you bring. Target saturation with some surprisingly resilient and powerful targets.
Personally, I would drop the WGBL and tweak elsewhere, and max out your Wolf Guard squad. You are missing the one crucial bit that really helps footslogging Wolves, and that is termies with cyclone launchers. That gives your grey hunters (or your Fangs, since you can define where Wolf Guard goes at the beginning of the game, not army creation) some long range punch and a place to allocate a lascannon or other painful shot. You're not worried about rhinos or movement, so you lose absolutely nothing by placing the termies in with your power armor. Alternatively, if you need an even better missile base, you can toss that guy in there and five missiles becomes 7 (a surprisingly effective boost). Just a thought.

I already have 2 termis with cyclone ML, and with 2 scout packs that is the most I am allowed.
I am going for unconventional, and am aware of a lack in mobility. I think I gain more in resilence and versatility than Ilose to mobility. I thought about more termi armor, but I don't want to lose the ability to do sweeping advances. Mt thought behind this list is to bring something to tourney that others have not game planned against.
I have read a lot of diss aimed at WGBL, but the price differential between a wolf lord and a WGBL buys a meltabomb for each of the troop units(actually on the WG), which allows me to stop from being tank shocked off objectives.

You are right. Somehow, I misread the scouts as more Guard packs. I wouldn't want to drop your two best backline vehicle killers, so I guess two is the most you can get in this list without taking Logan.
So yeah, seems as strong as a straight foot list can get. Be flexible with who gets the Cyclone termies. The first inclination is to stick them in with the Long Fangs, but there's a lot of versatility to be gained from running them with GHs.

Thanks for the suggestion @ termis. I have always run them w/ Long fangs, but I can see how they could benefit A GH pack too, depends on the opponent.
I am 6-0-0 with my footslog list so far, but have always run 3 Rune priests and 1 Wolf priest. I get to playtest this format on Tuesday against some Blood Angels, and am looking forward to seeing how it goes w/o 3 rune priests.

i run a very simlar list although some of my grey hunters carry double plasma. this means that with my wolf guard with a combi plasma and a plasma pistol i can kick out 7 plasma shots and im not too fused about not bieng able to charge wih these squad as counter attack is our freind. also my lord skyfang comes to 255 points with th/ss saga of the bear tooth and tail and a jump pack he runs alon with my sky claws and wolf priest with a jump pack and that unit rocks sky fang himslef once killed two hive tyrants in one game. but yeah cool list i like

I like it. I like it alot! why would you worry about gk psykers when rune priets can deny psychic powers? I would stick Ghostalker with scouts for the extra oomf in assault but thats me, otherwise awesome. side note i need more hunters lol

Hi Brother,
I wanted to use SAGA ofthe Hunter, but it doesn't work. It allows you to outflank, but does not grant "behind enemy lines". I used to attach Ghostalker to the scouts, but if that limits the scouts to the table sides, it's just not worth it! I wish it would work that way though. I thought of adding him to a 10 scout unit to outflank(w/ 3 MotW, awesome!) but i love playing off the opponents edge too much.
Please tell me you have found somewhere to justify the unit still being able to use "behind enemy lines" when an IC is attached. Please, pretty please! I sooooo want to bring Ghostalker off the enemies edge again, like I did before I was told I couldn't. Those were the days! Back then my scouts averaged 4 units a game, instead of just 2!
I have noticed in your posts that you were using him in this way, but didn't have the heart to tell you it wasn't allowed. I'm sorry I was the one to tell you Brother.:(

Noooooooooooo!! lol its all good. i didnt read the rules good enough, i figured since u can attach a wolf guard and still get the rule, the IC worked the same way.

Nope. The WG is effectively a unit upgrade, so the scout pack's special rules still work. IC's specifically do not benefit from a unit's rules UNLESS they have the same rule. Alas saga of the hunter actually makes the scout pack LESS effective. Sad but true.(pg 48 core rulebook)
I also wish the IC could give the unit outflank so I could put him in with gray hunters.
Alas we will have to just come off the enemies table edge with scouts lead by a wolf guard and kill them without the use of an IC.

GKs will hate SW libbys. So it's ironic you are thinking the way you are.
However, I like the list. Although I have seen a mobile version of that list. I want to say I have seen a 5x 10 GH, 3x LF, list for 2000 and they all had rhinos. Anyway, it should be a powerful list anyway.
But against GKs, I think it will suffer. They will get powers off at will, which will be all S5 attacks, libby powers, etc. So purifiers can hit your lines with I6, S5. That S5 will really help their chances against your GH. And your HQs better have protection against force weapons.

I have yet to read deamon hunters or grey hunters codex, and I thought they were anti-psycher, but I guess they fight fire with fire eh?
Perhaps I will just mix the 2 and go with 2 rune priests, 1 wolf lord, and 1 wolf priest. Any thoughts to that?
I could add rhinos, and lose the melta and 2 GH per unit, but with the metagame as it is Why not just lose them before my opponent shhots them out from under me? At least this way I know he overspent on antimech.
OK, you got me. I only own 1 vehicle at this point. I bought 100 unpainted and unassembled wolves on ebay for $200. I would probably throw razorback spam if i could. But I think i can be competitive without vehicles. They will get their vehicles soon....as long as th necron codex doesn't come out this fall.
