I've never really liked the GW advisors, so I thought I'd have a go making up some alternatives using bits.

Hope you like them guys, and CnC welcome. Can you guess what each one represents?

Great idea, very nice! In order of the picture of all three left to right...officer of the fleet, officer of ordinance, astropath

those are some very nice conversions, I don't particularly like GWs advisors and had been thinking of converting my own for a while now and this has been good motivation to get started!

also, where did you get the stone/brick basing?

those look really good, it's nice to see conversions that look really good with simple kit bashing. i like!
left to right: astropath, ordinance, & fleet

I like these a lot. Much more believable than having fleet officers and astropaths strolling around a battlefield. For the immense size of conflicts that take place, and each 40k game representing a single engagement within each, this sort of equipment just fits better than characters.

Those are great alternatives, consider them nicked.

thanks for the link to your blogs tutorial, that would have been my next question, how to make those awesome bases, great stuff!

Very nice! I'm still not sure which ones the astropath and which one is the officer of the fleet!

The guy with the vox and sat dish is the astropath organising the reserves and the two guys are the OoF, they're special ops liaisons organising attacks on the enemy reserves.

Hope that makes sense.

Ha, I was trying to figure out if the map meant +1 to reserve rolls, and pick my side, since I can tell you were to go or I have a map of the enemies positions so a -1 to their rolls!

In either case the models look great, I just used the command platoon for my OoF and my MoO, but you've given me a great idea for an astropath!

I thought I'd commented on these before, but I will now

I LOVE these models, so much better than the GW ones, and I'm guessing you're not a fan of the psycher either, this is an excellent excuse for not having an astropath.

Amazing job, man. As a Guard player myself, I just may need to make similar models using your ideas. But I'll always give credit where it;s due, as in you.
