I built this over the summer last year, and i've decided it's about time i bit the bullet and got it painted. So I've started this thread to spur myself on. What do you think? - any ideas for features on the base would be appreciated, i've been considering maybe a couple of wounded guardsmen.

Here's a full shot:

The weapons are magnetised, and i'm going to pick up some more as funds allow (already got a vulkan mega bolter though)
Cheers,

Hit the internet for some extra spare plastic valkyrie parts (like a spare wing) and extend the wreckage to cover the base.

Pose looks good. :)

Lasguns beonyte in the ground with helmets on the butts and boots on either side.
Maybe your normal foes' bodies on the ground.

Also I magnitized my shin armour on my Warhound and added battle damage underneith.
What colors will you paint it?

You were probably already going to do it, but I'd use some spackle filler to bring your base level to the same level as the badass looking resin piece there. It'll make it look a bit less uneven.

Agreed on the sentiments about some valk parts scattered everywhere. Would be cool. A wounded guardsmen crawling away from wreck would be cool too.

Ahhh...... wounded gaurdsman, storm troopers, or pilots would be good.

Ejected pilots? parachutes on the ground culd also be easily done with some tooth floss and cloth, Bruned ground would be another good touch, plain crashes tend to burn, and splash flaming fuel around. Or a big pool of aircraft fuel waiting to ignite...

I like the idea of one pilot dead in the cockpit, the other one that pulled himself from the wreckage, but died in the mud, or something.

You could have a guy hiding in the valkyrie, unaware that his hiding spot is about to get a lot more cosy...

Oooo, that would look really amazing with the parachute

Every thing thats been said is cool as long as the wreck has been buiried there for a long time,it takes time befor that much earth/ash/mud/debries would build up around the wreckage,on second thought the fusalage could have shreaded...I guess what I'm trying to say is how the wreck got there is most important in decideing where to go next

That is a very valid point, that wreckage does look old,so you could even make it look like the IG crawled out of it but they are rotten and are skeletons to match how far the valkerie is buried. Maybe even add a rotting tree that had fallen because the valkerie had hit it on its crash.
