Hi to everyone,
I'm a new member on here and wanted some feedback on some Cadians I've just finished up. I'm normally found on Bolter & Chainsword and the Commissar Proboard, but thought I'd branch out!
Anywho, I got bored of my Space Marines and decided to wander into town and buy the first thing that I saw on the shelf. Ok, it was 2 things: just a 5 man Cadian box and the 4 man Eldar Guardian box.
The Eldar will be started soon but I've just finished the Cadians. I bought them purely because I wanted something else to paint, but anyway here they are...

These really didn't take me long and they were a test to better understand if I would be able to actually complete a full army that is quick to put together and quick to paint to a good standard.
C&C would be appreciated and thanks for looking,
Daniel

I really dig the paint scheme. It's subdued without being boring, and looks like it would be a legitimate scheme for a guard regiment.
Ways to spice it up in the future:
To differentiate your Vet Squads (if you choose to do so) you could do a simple camo patter either on the flak or on the bib. With the coloring you have now, a WWII esque German Afrika Korps scheme would look really cool (the one with the 'leopard spots').
I think it works really well. Kudos.

I've been thinking of something similar for my guard regiment, either as an arctic theme or a desert/sand theme. What paints did you use?

Thanks Wittdooley, I'll bear it in mind, but I think it will take a while before any of this expands.
Phoenix: Yeah they were originally supposed to be a snow scheme, but the ases have turned into salt flats or something of the like.
The paint scheme is very easy...
Armour
1 Skull White spray basecoat
2 Badab Black wash over the armour
3 Skull white highlight and damage
4 Kommando Khaki for the Clothes
Clothing
1 Kommando Khaki
2 Gryphonne sepia wash
3 Bleached bone highlight
4 Skull white highlight
It's all very quick with a limited palatte.

I like how they are lighter colors. Most guard armies seem to be very dark, so it's a nice change. It might be nice to see them on a darker base so that they pop more, but it's totally understandable if you want them to be more realistic so that their armor blends into the terrain better.

Skull White spray basecoat
Armour
1 Badab Black wash (heavily watered down)
2 Skull white highlight, and battle damage
Clothing
1 Kommando Khaki
2 Gryphonne Sepia wash
3 Bleached bone on raised areas
4 Skull white highlight
Very quick and simple scheme with a simple palette.
Thanks everyone, Lerra- I did toy with the idea of darkening the bases, but I think for the moment I'll keep them like they are, adds to the feel of the Guardsmen.

Fantastic job. Love the detail you've put in to them with a fairly simple scheme. May I reccommend drybrushing the foliage with a bit of skull white to make the bases look more like a semi-artic tundra, matching the fatigues of your guardsmen?

You may indeed recommend it because I tried it earlier :) but I wasn't sure so I left it, but if you're recommending it then I'll give it a go and get some pictures up tomorrow.

I like it allot, but I think that the skin and fatigues color being so similar is throwing me off... Maybe darken the fatigues a little?

I like them just the way they are.
I would be honored to run them down and kill them on the field of battle. Sweet!

Haha well when I get my hands on some Armour we'll see about that!
And thanks, glad you like them :)
The skin tones will stay I think Mephiston, I'll add more variation when I get some more troops.

He's pretty much done, just a few touch-ups to do, especially on his right arm.
Feedback would be appreciated,
Daniel

Haven't posted in a while, and I see this is a triple post! Sorry about that, but I've been busy and would like some feedback.
I bought a Cadian squad and they've since been painted..

(The bases were finished this morning so they are actually finished)
And I also bought a sentinel, so here's some sneak peeks...

I would really like some C&C, anything would help.

Cheers glad you like them.
The original took me a couple of days (but about 5-6 hours if I worked on them non stop)
The scheme is really quick and the whole squad took me a day at the most.
Thanks as well Archon.
Here's some pictures of the new sentinel with the squad....

You'll have to trust me when I say the pictures wash out a lot of the deifintion on the white Armour of the sentinel....it looks much better in real life.
C&C is as usual appreciated.
