So before the Stormraven was released there was a lot of people saying that they would convert it to make it look more awesome etc. Some of these conversion ideas included extending the troop compartment to the tail. This is something I'm interested in doing for one of my Stormravens, but I don't know where to start.

So my question is: Has anyone done this/seen someone do this, and how did they do it?

Thanks for that. Looks like valkyrie transport bay is the way to go.

yes but sadly it is a little bit expensive.

i really like also the longer fin/tail in the last link, easy to do, cheap, nice looking, but it doesn't extend the troop compartment.

If you can look past the bad photography.
Hope to have better shots Sunday.

So far I have the basic shape roughed out. Still needs a lot of gaps filled, add surface detail and clean off the black sharpy layout marks.

There was a fourth pic showing the rear door but shiny white plastic and flash do not get along well.

I actually went with the plasticard extensions (about 4cm onto the main hull). Here's what it looked like last night:

(Turret is just a mockup at the moment)

Should get it finished with more photos tomorrow.

The extensions do look it a wee bit better. But still that air intake and silly turret on top of the standard Storm raven are giving me cramps. The guy made-, and the guys who approved that design might be given a lesson aerodynamics by throwing a brick at them... The more conversions I see of them on the net, the more I feel like buying and giving it a go as well.. Personally i feel like a lot of the design might be solved by moving the wing/engine assembly forward over the middle of the hull section and removing the wing's thrusters and placing them more towards the tail section.

The full Stormraven actually looks really good in person. No photo does it justice.

Can we have some closer shots of the specifique plastic card extension you've made ?
That would be very nice. :)

You are the first person I've heard that has said that after, presumably, not liking it from photos online, and while I agree that certain angles, and certain parts of it, look perfectly fine, I disagree on the whole. That said, I think your changed opinion is quite intriguing. What changed it for you?

FastEd: I guess I just really liked it in person. I started to like it from the photos after originally not liking it. I guess my problem was that it wasn't what I thought it would be.

Yeah, it does look a whole lot more attractive with that silly air intake and turret gone. That predator turret somehow suits it a whole lot better..

I like what you've done with this, Gir. I never had a huge problem with the air intake, though I agree its profile may be a bit larger than necessary.

Have you considered using milliput for filling those gaps in the armour? I find it's a bit easier to work with on armour because you can slush it on (get it a bit moist first and then use it kind of like a spackle) and it sands down a bit better than green stuff. Just food for thought for the future.
