Hi guys, just wanted to share with you my biggest Tyranid model to date, hes finally completed.

Fantastic job mate. I especially like the details on the base. If I had to make a criticism (and this is really pedantic) it would be that there possibly should be a grove where the Scythe/talon cut in to the floor. Even with that said the whole model looks amazing.

cheers man, yeah thats a good idea, I wonder why forgeworld didnt do that themselves as the scythe is modelled this way and the base is supplied with the slot for it. I'll have a look at how hard that would be to do, its pretty tough resin, I did some minor chomping away at the base to model on the pile of skulls so I'd need to do it with a dremel or something :eek:

Maybe you could build up some sand around the claw with white glue or something, rather than cutting away at the base?

lol, thats the kind of common sense I obviously don't have when tired haha. well I did plenty of filling around the rippers and the pile of skuls to blend them into the base, so building up a bit around the scythe should be no problem at all. I'll look into it when i get down to adding the patchy flock I've forgotten (as always) to add.
